I will personally blame you when people start meltdowning because the songs aren't surging after Coachella. I mean, tbf, Chappell’s career exploded because her performance of GLB at Coachella went viral. Obv people shouldn’t put all their eggs in that basket, but not even remotely impossible that she could have some viral moments thar help boost the album Edited 2 hours ago by Ladle Ghoulash We have forgotten our public MANNERS

In any case, it may have been beneficial for Spotify to shut down apk from a strictly financial perspective (they have to pay artists less), but from a broader business perspective it is unlikely. 13 hours ago, whoresup said: With the APK situation surely the people who previously had fake subscriptions will now just set up real subscriptions? It’s not like they are gonna never use Spotify again right? There is already a new, working version of the APK. But it seems that instead of migrating there, a lot of people just stopped using spotify altogether, which is weird.

These were the metrics and points for DWAS: 253,000 points by global streaming; 36,000 points by sales (paid download); 55,000 points by airplay (April 6, 2025). And the total points are considered for the All Time Track Chart. Maybe you’re referring to physical copies? Not sure wdym, but airplay = radio, which means that chart is based on units(SPS)+radio. So it's not just based on actual unit sales (SPS). Basically, it's kinda like Hot 100. Edit. And it clearly doesn't count all markets globally, DWAS would have way more weekly units from streams alone: Billboard Global stated it had 95M global streams, which would equal to 633k units if using 1/150 method.
