With the APK situation surely the people who previously had fake subscriptions will now just set up real subscriptions? It’s not like they are gonna never use Spotify again right?

I truthfully do not see the joker aesthetic not the a star is born sound. Its a ballad but thats it. I can't imagine a world where this had anything to do with joker.

I know a surprising amount of people who are unwilling to pay for spotify premuim

To add to this. If DWAS was meant for joker, it definitely would not have been on the origional soundtrack. But it also was clearly not meant for harlequin because Watt produced the song and he has absolutely no credits on Harlequin. Benjamin Rice and Gaga produced almost every song on HQ with jus them. Watt has only been involved with MAYHEM (he's even an executive producer). All signs point to MAYHEM for me.

We all thought Dance Monkey's record was unbeatable (she held the record for 5 YEARS), now DWAS has over one month lead. The way this song survived K-Pop streaming farms, Xmas take over, Spotify changes and multiple album bombs by Bad Bunny, Ariana Grande, and so on  I knew the song was going to be a hit but this is beyond anything I ever expected

This is def going to be both Gaga and Bruno's biggest hit ever, and I don't think we'll witness a song this big in a while. And the way they haven't performed it live in a big event (Coachella may prove me wrong?)

This may be beneficial for Gaga next year, maybe give her AOTY  I kind of feel that's why Joanne (long ass title in brackets) won Pop Solo after both Joanne (album) and MR lost to Ed Sheeran (plus ASIB success). If Mayhem gets nominated, that'll be her fifth nomination, and I swear to God if she doesn't win...

Joanne (piano version although there's a guitar) won thanks to ASIB, it was no consolation prize imo. I think she's still way too divisive from Grammy voters: good enough for pop categories but not the big 4.

Yes, but there is also a free option, or they found another fake premium option at another streaming service?

In any case, it may have been beneficial for Spotify to shut down apk from a strictly financial perspective (they have to pay artists less), but from a broader business perspective it is unlikely.

The premium version kinda sucks tho. You dont get to choose what song you get to listen to or you can play like one song and then spotify chooses what to play next without you being able to skip.
