It isn't, but they'll keep bringing it up to fit this weird 'we're aiming for longevity this era' narrative.

that's the more realistic thing to do tbh, we can't expect a re-peak by how things are going.

And you can't tell me with a straight face that stupid love is a bigger hit than abra, i'd say we are doing much better already.

Coachella has never been a great promo spot though, has it?

I guess it depends on how the show is... Beyoncé made a huge noise. She can obviously pull smth on that level

Everytime a delulu fan says Gaga is “aiming for longevity” a fairy dies lol.

Jokes aside, Coachella will maybe boost abra, but no boost will get a song from #40 (which is where I think Abra will be by the time Coachella kicks in), to #10 or higher.

If anything, I think Coachella will help Mayhem more on the top 200. Maybe it could repeak at #1 cause its most likely to stay on the top 5, and the boost might help it more

If we compare to Chromatica we are already serving much more longevity lol Abra is most likely passing the 11 weeks from stupid love and I think not even you would argue otherwise and DWAS eclipses rain on me, so, yeah  :icant:

MAYHEM is already pushing more longevity than any of her album since BTW and that's a real fact.

No, I don't argue that. I agree with it! Commercially speaking, Mayhem blew Chromatica out of the water in every metric possible, except maybe first sales, and we didn’t know billboard had change its rules until this week so honestly if we make the adjustment they did the same.

I could see people making a case saying DWAS isn’t gagas own merit, but even Gaga has a history of occasional “flukes/outliers” ala Shallow (at the time) and ARUTW and Bloody Mary, so its not actually an outlier, but a shared merit.

I think it's pretty fair to say that we'd see similar Chromatica numbers with tour bundles.

Also, can we not call some of her biggest hits flukes? :icant:

I’d say we would see MORE had mayhem had tour bundles. Close to 300k plus even! But I get why Billboard doesn’t allow them anymore

I personally don’t think its a fluke cause just like stan twitter will tell you that Gaga can only get a hit with other artists, I could bring that whole argument down with the inverse, the same artists gaga collabs with flop when they work with someone else. They need Gaga just as much as she need them. But we can’t pretend the “CollabGa” narrative doesn’t exist.

Yes its her most stable song since Applause, that doesnt necessarily mean it hasn’t seen sharp declines week to week. Abra went from 13 to 30 in one week. Then it rose back to 19 on album release week, and next week its predicted to go back to 33. That trend will continue because radio isn’t supporting it quickly enough. Give it two more weeks and it will likely be around 50.

It’s not a full free fall like Rain On Me, but it has seen its hefty declines. I am willing to correct myself saying its stable around the top 35. But then again to me that’s not particularly a goof chart placement, and I think the week after this one will be very telling if it is actually declining as fast as I think it is.

Desclaimer: this is a US-centric take. The song has been very successful everywhere else

It went 33-31-29 in the weeks before album release. It may fall now after album week, but it’s definitely been on a trajectory that is more stable than declining.

Edit: With radio continuing to achieve peaks (even slowly) and the stability we have, I see no reason to think it will fall out of the top 40 anytime soon

Edit Again: Either of us could be right though. Or something different that neither of us predicted could happen. We’ll have to wait and see 😊

But you called it flukes :poot:

Regardless, I agree that the narrative is silly, if collabs were a sure way to get hits we'd see every artist collaborating AND achieving commercial success, and that doesn't happen often, many try and fail.

Dutch

Miss Abra made a big jump on the Dutch charts this week:

#18 (+5)

It's getting closer to DWAS this week:

Yeah I don't think it will go below 40-45 if radio continued to pick it up.
