I’m sorry but its over. The song wont stabilize with enough streams to reach a decent peak. It will hit #12-13 on next weeks chart and slow down until release week, which will, at best, bring it back up to a top 15.

Gaga is very promo sensitive, but the promos spots lined up won’t help. Hot ones while very good for album content, wont move much for the song because there isn’t a performance here.

SNL wont work either, because it’s streaming only on Peacock in the US. Not on TV. The boost won’t be considerable.

She needs an actual performance with huge audience or physical sales, but with Kendrick, and Drake dropping this week, it wont challenge. And during album release week, they can drop the physicals, but by then the song would have dropped farther down the charts so the climb back up will be harder. I say we call it and just enjoy the fact that this song performed better than Disease and its just a cute little moment for the era. It’s enough to defend as a moderate hit and for Grammy effects later on, it made the noice it needed to make.

Plus the song id amazing and this album is bound to be insanely successful

:oprah:

Radio is growing and let's see if SNL doesn't help as many are saying... It's something. In the worst case, she just needs to book a late night show, idk who has better viewership

It’s a decent pick! I agree. Slightly less than predictions but decent. It would be nice tho to see it perform better considering that the reason it is not, its because of outside factors like the super bowl. For once it would be nice to not have a crazy scenario push us down

I think we should just wait and see what we’ve got coming our way! It’s very early in this single’s life, and it’s already doing better than any solo single Gaga has since streaming became the major unit of measurement!

They surely have. Gaga seems happy to do promo this time around ( probably in a good mental spot, thank God).

It think there will be a lot promo once we get closer to March. But it’s already happening: SNL50, Hot ones ( dropping in minutes)

Its so nice and heartwarming seeing we actually want to do promo. I agree she looks much more open and invested. Its injecting authenticity to the entire era.

I think It will help, but lets not expect a 1M+ update lol. Maybe a cute little 100k-350k bump.

Yes you are right! Depending on what promo spots and plans they have by album release week, things could turn around. But they DO need to have something lined up. If there’s no more tactics planned as of now, its leaning towards a slow decline.

I have faith thats not the case though. They seem much more invested this time around.

I read all your messages and I can tell you’re not trying to be a partypooper but rather realistic however, this is also the streaming era, songs perform weirdly these days, a song can peak MANY months later, drop in streams and then pick up again, look at Chappell’s Pink Pony Club, isn’t that song from 2022 or something like that? And all it needed was ONE performance to now be a Top 10 hit. DWAS & BOAF are still doing the same streaming numbers as they did when they came out, the industry is so different and unexpected things can definitely happen.

I think yes, as you said, they need to do something and idk if Hot Ones & the SNL concert will be enough, but I also saw Bobby replaying to a fan on insta saying physicals for Abra are coming, if they have them shipped on the same week as Mayhem, the song can EASILY peak top 10 if not even Top 5. Disease might outdo it’s peak too considering both are the first 2 songs on the album which will guarantee them the most streams.

I honestly think it will be fine but even if it’s not, personally I am just happy with whatever happens and enjoying this masterpiece of an album because yes, this will either be on par with her best albums or maybe even better!

Firstly, no negativity on this site thank u.

Calm down, the song is doing amazing for it's second week against so many threats, even more considering it's a dark pop eurodance.  The GP loves it, the song will hold for itself, it's really addictive. They're playing for longevity, there's no need to drop all weapons at once for the song to have a really high peak and then no stability afterwards.

In love with chaos depressed by fate.

Thanks for your kind words! Look I understand the business well and I and work in marketing. I know all this and yes, songs can have wild runs. Just a couple of years ago a 46 year old song became viral and had a crazy peak. It CAN happen. Will it happen to us? Idk, none of us knows and right now we cant depend on a viral moment to secure a good performance. All we know is that Physicals are allegedly coming and that will definitely boost the song, and Album week will also help. What we don’t know is if it will help significantly.

Its not that I’m being negative, I’m just looking at the trends that we have in front of us and I think that allows us to gauge how the song will perform in the short term. Is it horrible? No, not yet, but it could free fall. Is it over performing? Yes at first, quite a lot, now its somewhat on par. Are there circumstances against us that have nothing to do with the songs performance? Yes. There are several factors, but overall, its not like we can sit comfortably and be like “yeah its a smashing undeniable hit”.

If fans want to be optimistic I have no criticism for that, the song is amazing, Gaga seems terrifically happy, and by her own standards this is a better performing single than previous eras.

Me personally, I like to be more cautious. Yes radio is growing, but we know radio tends to drop Gaga after a week, (I hope they don't this time). I think that slight growth will compensate the loss in streaming and still pull us at #12-13 this week. Next week idk I will wait an see the new updates.

Anyways, I agree that viral moments can happen and songs don't always peak at the beginning of their lifespan, but Abra rn is leaning towards a slow down more than people want to admit, and the promo slots lined up I personally (and I could be wrong, I have no problem admiting I might be underestimating them), don’t think it will boost the song as much people think they will

if they have more stuff line up (which I think they do), once we see how that impacta the numbers, I will be more than happy to be either more optimistic or double down on what I said.
