I mean which artist are we comparing her against? Taylor’s last album era she had one successful single which was a collaboration with Post Malone and it dropped off pretty quickly. Beyoncé’s last album era she had one hit song boosted by the Super Bowl and her collaboration with Miley Cyrus flopped. Dua Lipa failed to get a US top 10 last era. Charli’s Brat Summer only produced one top 10 hit, no #1 song. Chappell Roan’s album only produced two top 10 hits, no #1s.  Sabrina and Ariana are the only two that had multiple top 10 singles. However, none of the pop girls have had a song as big as DWAS. Billie Eilish’ is probably the closest comparison in terms of performance which has a career less than half as long as hers.

Let's be real that collab stuff comes from two particular fanbases that would have LOVED their fave to grab that Bruno Mars collab on their latest  flop / underperforming albums. No shade to them but DWAS clear both Katy Perry and Beyoncé hits they ever released (solo or collab). 

Abracadabra is solid enough to clear that collab stuff allegation. It shouldn't even have been a thing to discuss in the first place tbh

And 17 years into her career, she’s more successful than Britney, Christina, katy, Kesha, miley were/are at this stage. She’s doing more than fine. 
 

Even so, we’ve all aged out of the whole compete with other fan bases, and our lack of care is actually quite refreshing - she released her best album in years and that’s enough for me/us!
