It was my understanding that after the 20th week, if a song is outside of the top 50, it gets booted (unless it has not ever entered the top 50). Maybe Abra is different because it has spent most of its run in the top 50? Wildflower spent like 30 weeks bobbing around the lower part of the chart. Idk, its confusing and idk where to go to find all the rules. Generally, if a song had spent 20 weeks on Billboard, it must be present within top 50 to continue to chart. If it goes below #50 from 21st week, it will be completely out the chart. However if it maintains to be within top 50 it can continue to be in the chart. Wildflower still spends most of the weeks within top 50, so it doesn't have to go recurrent. If a song had gone recurrent and out of the chart but eventually if its position is high enough to be within top 50 again, it can re-enter the chart once again. This is how Bad Romance re-entered the chart at the time of Superbowl. There are some exceptions to this rule and certain songs do spend multiple weeks below top 50 even after spending 20 weeks and the actual reason is uncertain. 1

Squabble up and Wildflower both have well over 20 weeks on the hot 100 and last week they were outside of the top 50 but didnt get booted? and this week they rose into the top 50. How have they not gone recurrent? I know they make exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Im wondering if they’ve started making exceptions when a song (that has charted for over 20 weeks) bounces out of the top 50 because of an album bomb but would otherwise still be in. It's all very confusing ngl, and the rules we can find are often outdated I think, or at very least, they omit some.
