Smithy 2,323
American Radio is honestly so dumb, the thought of a song peaking 4 months after a release is so insane to me, how are Americans not bored of all the same old songs over and over 1

For Abra is important because the US streams are low, songs can still chart without much radio support if the US actually streams the song. A good example is lose control, it has less radio audience than Abra but the streams make it a top 10 song. That and all the negativity toward it in general lol especially when it becomes a “time to move on” thing. What?? The song is barely 4 months, felt like such a zeitgeist career moment and for several weeks after its release too, has 143 million YouTube views, stable with 2+ million streams on Spotify, radio gains, and it’s literally my favorite part of the gym still lol. Like damn enjoy the ride, we used to DREAM of this, especially how her contemporaries are performing. Anyway, used my response to you to vent lol.

Abra is STILL a global smash, but we are barely holding on US Spotify and we are OUT on AM US. The talks about moving on are not entirely unfunded let's be real Especially if we keep bleeding on radio, which it won't happen The melody that you choose can rescue you

I guess my point is that moving on doesn’t guarantee anything, but it’s treated on here as if a new single is going to suddenly be this instant hit, when, again, Abra is barely 4 months old and things take time.
Leoj305 3,575
Tbh a deluxe makes the most sense in June, specifically because it’s a month break from the live performances. That and she’s getting a huge promo slot for Netflix. A new single would be great and would keep the album over 10M streams for June/July, especially if it does close to abra numbers. I hope we do get a new single regardless (even if it is zombie boy/Killah with a MV for Wednesday) it’s due tbh, she has had a 3 month gap between every single so far.

I guess with the upcoming TUDUM event people (me ) are kinda hopeful they have something big prepared, the last TUDUM audience was almost 80M, that's a big promo spot, probably the biggest she'll get this era, there's a good opportunity to release something now and to make some impact on the US. Ofc, they can always make something happen for Abra at tudum, but they already did so much for it, with many promo spots, march madness etc That i doubt it would help much on the US tbh.
