A major radio station putting abracadabra onto power rotation 2 months in is very promising. Like after two months they've looked out the callouts and the hype around this song and have decided that it can do well on radio.

This happening two months out is especially promising. A slow rise and fall on radio can help a song chart for a longggg time. This is also kind of unheard of for a recent gaga song (except DWAS). Even ROM had a fast rise and fall on radio

Yes!! And honestly there’s a few songs ahead of Abra on pop that are falling steadily or are starting to fall quicker, so it could have a decent residency in the top 10 on pop radio. HAC is also picking up steam and we need them for overall radio and the Hot 100. A repeak at 8-10 will not be hard to do if they pull out some DAMN PHYSICALS and remixes in 2/3 weeks. They cannot wait until it phases out and loses steam on pop radio.

With it getting more and more exposure on top 40 and continued promo with March Madness Basketball (it literally plays on and off the entire length of the games it’s insane) they should really come up with more TikTok/social media content and fan content. This song is very much alive

I don't hope for any physicals at this point. They didn't release physicals for Disease either. Also, can physicals really be sufficient enough for a higher peak? Even DWAS sold just around 2k physical copies. If Abracadabra has to peak higher, it needs better US streaming numbers and more radio airplay (which is rising).

Point is, Gaga's team could've managed to get a quick top 10 in the Hot 100 but it is clearly not their strategy. My assumption is, they dont want a high peak followed by a freefall (Basically Stupid Love). We could've easily landed in the top 10 or even top 5 if that particular Superbowl week was not so competitive. It was probably the strongest Top 10 week of the year in terms of points. Also don't forget we lost 3-4(?) tracking days when Abra was fresh and trending.

In short: Top 10 isn't everything and Gaga's team clearly don't see a value in it. It's always a matter of "IF" they want a higher/top 10 peak.

This is very much true. They aren't interested in a high debut and then free fall with no impact. It's a good decision to release Abracadabra as an advertisement in between the Grammys so that they can get all the attention of the viewers making it a more memorable single, despite that week being too competitive and it lost 3 days for tracking. Stupid Love debuted at #5 but spent just 10 weeks and never to be seen.

But for Abracadabra to have more longevity or even a new peak, it must have higher streaming numbers and radio airplay. I'm so happy that it's doing amazing numbers in airplay lately. I hope it will also rise in Spotify in upcoming days.
