agree, let's enjoy the music and find the more positive aspects to talk about, like the global smashery we are witnessing  :firega:

I can’t wait for coachella. Imagine the entire crowd chanting the spell to Abracadabra :traumatica:.

I feel like she’ll either open or close with this song. Then again none of us saw Killah coming on SNL, I can’t predict her this era at all

ARUTW,  I do consider slightly more random cause no heavy promotion was done for it and its just an accompanying song on the album that people happened to love a lot. It became successful on its own without much intent behind it.

Except its not random though, in my country it played non-stop on Radio and was considered an official Gaga single, same with I'll Never Love Again. In my country people love ballads, thats why Die With A Smile also went #1 here.

I think a lot of the streams for ARUTW and INLA are not from the US considering its peaks on the BB Hot 100. But in a lot of EU countries, ARUTW also made it Top 5 on their official charts.

Well you said it yourself. Its a single in your country, not on the rest of the world. Not really a main single. Its like saying Dance In The Dark is the final single of of TFM across the board.
limited released singles are usually not considered completely as part of an albums singles run

ARUTW is not an official single where you are from. But it has the streams/views it has because it was made a single in a lot of countries. It has over 1.5 billion streams on Spotify alone. Dance In The Dark has 50 million streams, dont know if it was made a single anywhere because its not reflecting.

Radio still supporting Abra is amazing! I definitely see radio helping to keep the song in the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. I just don't know what it will take for her to achieve another top 10 hit on the Billboard charts as a solo artist. At least we can always rely on her collabs smashing.

Abra already peaked #4 and #5 on Billboard Global charts :bye:

No, I don't argue that. I agree with it! Commercially speaking, Mayhem blew Chromatica out of the water in every metric possible, except maybe first sales, and we didn’t know billboard had change its rules until this week so honestly if we make the adjustment they did the same.

I could see people making a case saying DWAS is kind of a fluke, but even Gaga has a history of occasional flukes ala Shallow and ARUTW and Bloody Mary, so its not a total outlier.

There's noting fluke about Shallow, ARUTW, BM or DWAS. Or then every hit is a fluke... ARUTW was literally everywhere in Europe and smash radio hit. Not just one country. And BM is a great song and was trending way before Wednesday edits. :iamfair:

It was made a single in France! Usually regional branches from UMG are the ones who decide to put singles out on specific countries, probably due to warm reception or to target a specific population.

in both ARUTW and DITD cases, they were made singles by the regional branch in coordination with Intersope Records. But that doesn’t mean Gaga’s team anticipated a plan to have them as second and fourth singles from their respective albums. It probably just means the song performed particularly well in those countries, so they were made a singles.

Chromatica spent its first 4 weeks in the BB200 top 10 before dropping out and not returning.

I'm hoping for 10+ weeks in the top 10 for MAYHEM

I found a spreadsheet I made to track chromatica's spotify streams back in 2020 (I've been fascinated by streaming data for half a decade lmao)

The data I collected started on 7/11/2020 (exactly 6 weeks after Chromatica release), here are some song's totals on that day

Alice: 23.087M

ROM: 207.726M

Free Woman: 22.278M

911: 24.750M

Replay: 17.103M

Babylon: 16.150M

MAYHEM's tracks are starting to out-stream Chromatica's tracks in 1/3 of the time. (chromatica was out for 6 weeks at the time of this data, Mayhem has been out for 2)

Some Mayhem tracks after two weeks:

GOE: 30M (already outstreamed 911 in 2 weeks vs 6)

Debra: 212.303M

HBDUWM: 21.9M (Already close to FW and Alice's streams)

VIY: 22.122M

SOAM: 18.371

Mayhem tracks are doing far better than chromatica tracks were just two weeks out. Would not be surprised if we end up getting 4-5 album tracks with 100M streams relatively quickly (chromatica only has 4 songs with 100M+ streams total)
