Cpeer 3,354
Comparisons with Brat make no sense. Brat had a moment of hype that is not usual for most artists ( or usually only one album during the whole career). 99% that her next album won’t have that success 4 1

As Applause spent 23 weeks, Million Reasons and Rain On Me all spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. What you said is true. But its not what I was saying. ARTPOP, Joanne, and Chromatica have a combined three songs with over 20 weeks (20 weeks is a great standard for measuring a single's success). I can see that. brat has two 20 week songs from one album. Thats what I was saying. We havent seen multiple singles from one album reach 20 weeks on the hot 100 since Born This Way. Would love to have multiple 20+ week singles from one album - Like brat has! Not a diss to gaga, not a diss to you. brat has some nice success - even without high peaks - that I would love for gaga.
Noah 26,933
I think stable streams are just about maintaining momentum, which is why Brat has been doing well - the Album felt like it had a life. It went on from the original release to the sweat tour to the remix Album etc. It was interesting to follow through. Compare that to Cowboy Carter which ended up being DOA and even a Halftime Show Performance, a Music Video, a Grammy win and a Tour announcement couldn't bring life into it. I think my wish for Gaga is just to keep the Album alive for a while. Now since the chart rules changed, that maybe doesn't mean a Deluxe Version - but with Music Videos, the Tour etc. ⟡ ⋆ ˚。⋆🦢⋆ ˚。⋆⟡

It also has two singles that spent 20 weeks on the chart, which none of the three gaga albums I listed have. Gaga's promotion team should be taking notes on brat if they want to have longevity with a dance/electronic album You're comparing one of the most popular albums of the year in terms of noise with Gaga's least popular albums commercially. Name me another Charli XCX album that did as well as Brat. Plus, if you look at overall worldwide sales, I think Brat still underperformed in comparison with Chromatica or ARTPOP despite all the variants, digital exclusive downloads etc. etc

Yeah, I would love that for Gaga too. 1

If brat can maintain top 60 for 40 weeks with the abysmal streams (3.1M daily streams) it's fair to assume that MAYHEM will completely ECLIPSE it, it won't be even close. Agreed. Gaga is showing her most stable streaming numbers for MAYHEM. Brat is consistently getting 6 million streams because the remix album and the original album are combined (like DOC and Chromatica after week 1). Would love if MAYHEM got a great remix album - for the arts and the charts. But as you were saying. MAYHEM should have great longevity and stability, especially because Abracadabra is doing great, and DWAS is the hit that will never die.

Her numbers really aren't that impressive We are doing much better, at day 9 BRAT had 10M streams, MAYHEM had 20M at day 9. We are holding much better and have much bigger hits and we'll hold better in the future, I have no doubt in my mind. I'll repeat again, mayhem will eclipse brat. ceminay 895
I think Brat was so popular because people missed proper album eras. With streaming, music releases became so lazy and uneventful. Charli was able to keep things exciting and feel like an old era rollout that people missed, all within the new streaming era. More to do with the execution than the album itself.
Pandacadabra 8,329
@lastpopicon are you a psychic or what? I admire your confidence in MAYHEM, isnt it too early to predict that it will chart for 40 weeks or more? I want it to do well obviously.

What I was saying was not a diss to Gaga but maybe its being taken that way. ARTPOP and Chromatica were albums that struggled because they sounded so unique in a musical landscape that was basic af. I'm not trying to put Charli over Gaga. What I am trying to say is... Charli xcx put out a dance/electronic album that has seen a ton of mainstream success. Brat was in some ways very against the grain of what is popular in the US, yet she has success with this unique album. Mayhem is also an excellent unique album. Understanding Brat's strategy for success could help point Mayhem in a direction for success.

My confidence comes from DWAS and Abra mostly tbh And GoE is starting to take a hold. And I also believe in the quality of the album and good music always wins at the end, the BTW resurgence in recent years is proof of that.
