Mr S 8,645
Why are physicals for Abra needed? Isn't it worth the same as itune download? Instead of buying physicals can't we just buy itune?

Cpeer 3,284
Some here complaining about 45M first day streams on only one platform. Just repeat loudly - 45 MILLION STREAMS in a single day only on Spotify. Did Billie do better? Yes. Are Gaga’s numbers still great? Hell yes. 1

Zombiecat 15,397
do my spotify streams of shadow of a man get filtered out if i listen to it multiple times in a row just at different times of the day? like i listen to 3/4 of it then go do something, stream abracadabra then go straight back to SOAM again, then sometimes replay it multiple times after https://linktr.ee/jamalholt
jimmytimestep 2,656
She seems to be doing really well on AM, comparatively way better than Chromatica for sure also I’m not ready to count pure sales out. Chromatica did 205k pure with tour bundle; I just feel like we can at least see 100k in pure, and a lot direct from her website Edited March 8 by jimmytimestep

Lets be real. While its a decent debut compared with newer artists, Gaga is falling behind in streaming compared to other 2000s veterans. What’s interesting to me is that this era flipped in terms of charts VS critics. Usually the critics are very lukewarm towards her, but her sales are decent-good. This time, the critics are praising the album, but the sales are lukewarm Kind of disagree. Eternal Sunshine did 227k, and Ariana had a #1 solo single and another #1 solo single the week after the album came out. She also sold variants like Gaga, so it's a decent comparison in regards to a release strategy. I think people just had their expectations way, way too high. Gaga has never had Taylor's numbers or Adele's numbers, or even Beyonce's (with the exception of BTW). Selling around the same as Ariana makes sense, especially as they don't count tour bundles anymore (which were a factor in Chromatica's sales). For someone 16 years in the game, this is still really good for her to be pulling a #1 debut over 200k. It's far better than 95% of her contemporaries (with the exception of Taylor and Bey). The fact of the matter is the younger girls-Sabrina, Billie, Olivia-just have more reach right now, and Gaga has always been weak with streaming...which hurts her in an era that is dominated by streaming numbers. There's also simply the fact that Gaga and her label (her label is absolutely a part of it) don't push as hard as Sabrina's team...and that's probably Gaga's choice. lastpopicon 13,297
Regarding the 1st week numbers, we some heavy promo this week (SNL in just 5 hours ) and apparently TTH predictions are always on the lower side. Then on March 11 we have the stern show, that could also help a bit. I can see +250K/300k happening honestly. The melody that you choose can rescue you

BUT i saw tens of articles today that people said Taylor is behind the writing of that song.. Its big click bait. Its an ok song (the worst of the album tho) but with the power of Taylor people will listen to it more from other better than that 1 1

Do you know how many artists would kill for those numbers? If you dream with Gaga claiming the TS or Billie's throne, sorry but I have something to tell you... And if the issue is that you won't be able to brag in front of other fanbases well... 45M is a sign of an incredibly healthy career, specially if it shows legs. You guys need a reality check. Totally. Not to mention that those number would have been closer to 55 million just three weeks ago.

At first too I thought it was okay but then it really grew on me, might even say it's in my top 6-7 off the album
SevenWonder 4,219
Is it normal for second day streams after an album drops to increase like most Mayhem songs on AM are doing? My assumption is that there would be a huge drop after the first day.

I went to a friend's birthday party today and everyone are pop fans but none of them had listened to the album outside of my other monster friend, and she's a casual monster. Like I watched the Spotify press conference through Instagram, and the comments were all BEGGING for Playboy Carti to drop and being like "is this for Carti?" "Where is carti?" "Mayhem carti yaaas" and then Gaga showed up and they were like "wtf this is for lady gaga? where is carti?" rap/r&b just have a deeper grip on the GP here in the US. Pop isn't considered "cool" anymore. 5
