Because radio and streaming right now is 😭 I mean, what’s happening on Spotify is affecting EVERYBODY, the song is not decreasing just by itself. Also, in the streaming era songs can pick up any time, look Pink Pony Club, it’s years old and all it took was a performance for it to go top 10 and rise on radio too. I think Abra showing it’s virality potential is a good indicator that once Gaga does promo and the song gets out there outside the internet, the GP will love it too. Sour Candy was released around 6 hours prior to Chromatica (as per my time zone) so that it would enter the Billboard in the next week as other Chromatica songs. Releasing a promo single close to the album makes sure that it's gaining more momentum and gain more streams on the day of album release.
