I haven’t read the latest pages but I can imagine the meltdowns for nothing. But seriously, DWAS still #1 on global and Abra #11? The slayage is real. When will your FAV . I just need a sec to have a moment of appreciation for everything this era has delivered so far, Disease, Abras world dominance, the Grammys. It just feels like people get greedy and want the best of the best, but just accept the fact that we are doing more than great and that you can’t always be number one on everything all the time and yet have the longevity and respect from the people.

Some fans need a solo world hit. For what? I don't know.

I feel like first week numbers are actually gonna be pretty great? Like I'm expecting her to match Chromatica's 275k and possibly cross 300k.

Streaming, in killing the "many singles from an album" strategy, has sorta resurrected the album strategy. We've seen this over and over the last few years where there is one really big single that overshadows any other singles that come after but the album itself does well.

Billie's latest album (Birds of a Feather), Harry Styles (As It Was), Bad Bunny (DtMF), SZA (Kill Bill), Beyonce (Texas Hold 'Em), Taylor Swift (Fortnight), Olivia Rodrigo (Vampire), etc. all fit this trend. One hit, several less successful singles, but with an album that serves longevity – albums which, pre-streaming, you would've expected to yield a few more Top 10s on the Hot 100. The only artists who've really broken this trend over the last few years are the ones having a breakout moments (Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, Dua Lipa, Taylor w/ Taylormania).

Mayhem has one massive hit in DWAS and a promo hit in Abracadabra, both of which have had massive impacts on Gaga's catalog. Even if Abra is falling, there is clearly still huge interest in what Gaga is doing (9 songs doing over a million streams daily legit puts her in a league of her own compared to other pre-streaming artists; Taylor Swift, by comparison, has 2 songs doing over a million daily).

all that to say, I don't think Disease/Abra chart performance is indicative of how Mayhem as a whole will do. I think we may have a Brat situation on our hands where it's about the era, the album as a body of work, etc. rather than any one single doing exceptionally well (and tbh, I'd much rather have that than a viral hit alone).

Why are ya’ll saying 200-300k? HDD already reported that 450k is guaranteed based on the three singles alone.

edit: I forgot those don't count for first week sales. Either way 200-300k is lowballing it tbh

Maybe she can sign 1 million vinyls in the US alone, release them for pre-order over the next few weeks, and then boom

How much time would that take her?:ladyhaha: She'll do 20k max and that's a lot

I see many being very optimistic, she can sell albums but her team seems to forget she's very promo sensitive and I don't mean playlisting or airplay, it's her performing and promoting the project herself

Ha yeah I was kidding. There's other consequences too - like them losing value the more of them exist.

It's not a bad idea :ladyhaha: She might do it and nobody will know the real amount they had in stock anyways but after all the Ls for Chromatica, I wonder how many they actually have in stock for MAYHEM.

I remember they were selling signed posters for Chroma and then they cancelled them, refunded everyone and gave them the unsigned posters as a gift :ladyhaha: A mess

Nice, I'm surprised it's not higher on US Dance Radio

Does anyone know how radio compares with DWAS for the same days since release?

6 spins on Z100 for Abracadabra in half a day :firega:

Yesterday it got 7 for the entire day :stalkga:

Does that mean people are being receptive to the song? Can that be known from day to day?
