Drag me, but this is over. It’s going to continue to do well worldwide, but this has no future in the US. I’m ready for Vanish Into You and the entire album tbh. I unfortunately think DWAS will remain the only hit off Mayhem here in the states.

The thing is, the song aint gonna survive on its own with just some tiktoks.

DWAS got physicals on release day, they had two performances on Vegas that people made kinda viral with their slow dancing, they had the pop-up stores set up for a week or two, then you had Bruno performing it on tour + they had other activities DWAS related on the outside of the shows.

Abracadabra has a MV on Grammy night (cool, it worked for a few days) and that's it.

And before anyone takes this the wrong way, I still love the songs, both Disease and Abracadabra, but it's sad that we don't get to see the vision with live performances or other visuals.

I won’t drag you, I’m with you 100%. The song is doing quite well over in the UK and i’ts already a top 5 hit there. 

VERY different story in the US. The little defensive fans are failing to see that, yes, the song WILL bounce back during release week, but it wont be enough to outpeak its #12 position. That top 10 is far fetched and a top 5 is completely delusional. 

The third week will land us at #45 

fourth week at #55-60

and then album release week will bounce us back to maybe a #15. Abra simply isn’t sticking with the GP, and fan power wont do it alone. It would need to stabilize with 5M per day to stay within the top 20, and THEN maybe during album week it could bounce up to a top 5. But if its losing over 500k per day, its simply not as possible as they are making it out to be.

And even if they did promo, the music landscape is competitive af this upcoming weeks. Its an uphill battle and I think the sooner we accept Abra’s performance was front-loaded the better we can give up and just enjoy the music. Its basically the Rain on Me of this era. It made itself known, had a cute little moment, cute little international success, but its not a hit. Its enough to be iconic within its era and enough to be a Grammy contender. Thats it

Wdym #1 on lock? Last year IFPI is yet to be released but I don't believe it was #1 in 2024, sure it might be #1 this year if it has insane longevity, but 2026 I don't think it will make it to top 20  But DWAS has proven everyone wrong many times, so who knows...

and Mayhem isn't even out yet. Disease streams, in comparison with the Ari and Tay singles, can still be consider a hit - that's all in proportion to the number of Spotify users in the past years as this was also their most recent releases.

Look at the YT numbers, it's a very good indicator.

To lighten up the mood a bit, Abra is still out-streaming other releases like Born Again by Doja Cat, LISA and Raye, Sabrina’s deluxe tracks, The Weeknd’s album bomb, and only one song of off Drakes new album is entering the top 10 ahead of us. 
 

while Abra is currently underperforming, its actually doing better than other new releases.

Both Disease (59M plays) and Abracadabra (58M plays) out-streamed all 143 singles combined (52M plays) on YouTube Music 

Whole 143 album has 64M plays total, so Abra gonna surpass it in a few days and Disease at some point
