Spotify usage has grown considerably globally since then A top smash would typically get 6M streams globally now a top smash os 10M+ Thats nearly double. Its like a person talking in celcius and someone else talking farenheight. The numbers are completely incomperable Or its like comparing itunes sales today to several years ago. U just cant However, streaming units are still the same 1/150 so it's still getting more units from Spotify alone ROM smashed back then, Abra doing better is impressive nonetheless and proves that it's a hit. 3
loathereality 25,741
Abracadabra has reached 80 million streams on Spotify. It is her 49th song to reach this mark, surpassing “Speechless”. 1

U just cant Well, at the end of the day, comparisons to ROM are good, it was Gaga’s last pop, #1 hit. What will really be interesting is seeing if Abra withstands the test of time better than ROM. ROM gets laughably low daily streams, it sadly wasn’t as memorable as other songs of hers. Personally, I strongly believe that Abra will be a lot more “defining” than ROM in the long run.

If you look at the daily streams, Abra is declining fast and barely performing on par with other tracks. If you look at Gaga’s track record, It is outperforming her standards. It’s just her standards are slightly underwhelming for the bigger landscape in music. I think that’s why fans are frustrated with it and maybe the perception is sometimes skewed. It depends if you look at it from a macro or micro level. Although Spotify users have grown and if you make that adjustment, Abra is not wildly over performing either. Zander 14,869
Not a great sign Abra was the only one in the red today in the top 10. Aside from DWAS her songs seem to follow this pattern of dropping off pretty quickly and not having longevity and staying power like a lot of other artists do.

U just cant Don´t be that sure that the numbers of Western artists are that different compared to 2020. Yes, Spotify has now way more users, but that´s because it has expanded to Asia and LATAM, where local artists are dominant. For example if we exclude TPD because TS numbers are honestly an outlier we can see: The second biggest debut from last year was 85 million for Chromakopia, and without being an outlier it´s an incredibly high number. The biggest album debut in 2020 was Bad Bunny with 66M. Yes, the numbers have grown, but BB would have been 4th biggest debut in 2024 with those same 66 millions. What I´m trying to say is that good numbers from 2020 are still good numbers for today standards, and that improving from 2020 is still very good. AndiGaga 6,392
A positive note: Abra still performs brilliantly for an artist 18 years into their career. Calm down. She already has the song of the millenium with DWAS. Abra is THAT BTCH and it is performing great on the charts, a top 10 hit WORLDWIDE. Calm down. Mayhem is already bigger than ARTPOP, Joanne & Chromatica and it is not even out. 3 1 1

It's such a shame that after two weeks — Kendrick superbowl bomb, Drake album bomb, Blackpink members new singles/albums, SZA & Sabrina Carpenter deluxe drops... among others — Abracadabra is still inside the Top 10 most streamed songs globally on Spotify. What a shame. 3 3
