Disease peaked at #27 without physical sales, 2 days tracking for its MV, and very low Radio AI; so most of its points came from audio streams and digital sales. On album release week, it’ll surge in audio streams from every person who hits “play” on MAYHEM as the album opener, in addition to getting an extra boost from the recognition it has as a single from the era (as we’ve seen after Abra’s release). As mentioned, Alice debuted on the Hot 100 off Chromatica, and Stupid Love (which had fallen off harder vs Disease at this stage) also saw a big increase in streams. Since Disease never had physical sales or massive Radio opening to begin with, it shouldn’t be hard to at least come close to the points it had on its debut/peak. As we’ve seen with Abra, that doesn’t necessarily mean a higher position because the competition will be different, etc. Abra will have a great shot at peaking on album release week because it’s only a couple of weeks away, when streams will still be high, and after Radio has been able to build. Obviously it did well, but a whole lot of its success came from social media/tiktok, not playlists etc. @monketsharona aka expert guy I think it’s quite early to say this, and DWAS is already bigger than any song on Brat? The album is not even out yet.

Abracadabra is definitely the proof people are her for her electronic stuff again. I'm certain the album will do very good with potentially album tracks getting some trendy moments on TikTok. TikTok is very warm to Gaga tbh

If people cling to the album on Spotify first MAYHEM release week I wouldn't be that surprised if we get a new cute peak for Disease. The fact it is also 1st track on the album will help imo

I know I’m grumpy, but it’s annoying we’re not allowed to speculate if Chromatica may have performed better without Covid because “TTH,” yet an album I definitely saw all over my Spotify had “minimal playlisting?” More broadly, they aren’t comparable or treated the same. LG1-LG5 were the most discussed albums of their year on metacritic (LG6 was #3 I think) - there’s plenty of evidence that ALL Gaga albums have huge impact on pop culture, and yet her perceived relevance has always been tied directly to commercial performance in a way a Charli has never. Gaga always has to “do more.” Her output has been consistently great and yet critics and fans hold her to a different / higher standard- she’ll never get an MC score close to brat. So far, though, we’re getting quality, commercial performance, mix of traditional and new/social media oriented tactics, and yes, she’s certainly grabbing hold of the Zeitgeist in a very brat-like manner.
