I've had my time with the album, I cried, I smiled, I fking screamed :cryga: had time to digest everything by now I can say with confidence this is one of her strongest albums, this is raw gaga, unapologetic with her music and unafraid of pushing boundaries, just like she did with her debut with The Fame.

And she's repeating history with MAYHEM, this album will still be charting in 16 years, just like The Fame is still charting, because it's something so unique and fking special people will always cherish it.

MAYHEM is a fcking masterpiece, we stan the best :sis:

I wish How Bad Do U Want and Don't Call Tonight were replaced with more interesting ones. Tracks 8-10 really drag things down.

That seems to be the consensus! But give Don’t Call Tonight a chance. I didn’t like it at first, but on 2nd and 3rd listen it got way better to lighten that drag.

How Bad Do U Want Me has no saving. That song is distant from the hand of God lol

Ok the more I listen to it the more I worry... Only because the marketing of the album and the actual sound of the second half do not match at all. I wish it was promoted just as pure pop, with a deluxe planned more gothic/hard hitting songs/vers.  Track 8-10 going to effect this album badly...

I still didn't listen to the songs (3h15 til its out in my country). Would you say that overall the album is mostly pop or more rock/hard-hitting? Please don't go into details just tell me pop or rock/hard hitting :cryga:

I hear a mix of pre-The Fame and Joanne but others think it gives TFM/BTW vibes so.. :brat:

I keep seeing people not understanding the gothic vibe descriptors we got prior to the album releasing after hearing the album.

curious of their ages?

I ask because to me, authentic pop music has always been wrapped in shadows, even if it has an upbeat tone. The mid 90s dance and pop scene had a very dark vibe, even tho the songs were incredibly catchy.

noticing those who initially don't like it are the ones who came in with very specific expectations on the album's sounds (which i kinda get), but the elements they liked in the singles and snippets are in fact there....the album's just a whole lot more that that. there's a whole journey beyond that.

I put Happy Mistake between LoveDrug and Don't Call Tonight and DCT hits a little harder when you're not left with that rotten How Bad Can This Song Be taste :icant:

A lot of people who aren't happy are also ones that obsessively listened to leaks

I went leak free AND we (mods) got next to no info on this album before its release unlike other albums. A truly blind experience made this album rival freaking ARTPOP

It just worries hardcore fans, general public will eat this up as they don't know much about every statement she or ppl around her make lmao
