The only songs I disliked were Vanish Into You, and Don’t Call Tonight. My top 3 favorites (not including the 3 singles) are Killah, Perfect Celebrity, and Zombie.

After some thought at first listen this is definitely my least favorite album of hers.

interesting -- I had the opposite: this is one of my faves -- really shows you how diverse her fanbase is :)

Okay finally listening again now that it’s out here in the US. My first listen was this morning after setting my vpn to NZ and listening to the songs on NZ YouTube. Initially was disappointed, but having heard it now clearly through American Spotify..It’s a good album!!! Sounds way better when it’s not played over a janky New Zealand vpn.

Disease, Abracadabra, Garden Of Eden, Perfect Celebrity, and Vanish Into You is anre such an amazing run of songs. :legend:

As a fan of Gesaffelstein’s work, Killah is a pretty big let down. It was the song I was looking forward to the most. Also, wish they would have just called it Killer instead. :kry:

Lovedrug is another absolute bop!! :woot:

HBDYWM… girl. This one disappointed because those are very clearly Taylor’s nachos and if Taylor had released it the vast majority of monster would call it just another boring Taylor song. Other than it it’s alright. :madge:

Don’t Call Tonight, cute bop :bon:

Shadow Of A Man , oh bitch the rent was due!!!! Such a good song!! Definitely needs to be a single at some point! :legend:

The Beast. Was surprised that it’s actually a slower song but it’s really good!!! If there was gonna be a The Weeknd collab I can imagine this being it. :applause:

Blade Of Grass, cute. :bon:

And finally Die With A Smile. I loved it the instant I heard it back in August and I still love it now. Such a great song :legend:

Overall, this is a great album. My first listen was tainted but the VPN and I wish I would have waited until it was available for me.
Another thing is, I really wish she did not promote this as dark pop and going back to her roots. It teally set expectations high and the bar was raised higher with disease and abra. Someone coming to MAYHEM looking for Darkpop may be disappointed that did not find it. This is why I’m always against the talk of her “returning”. Just let Gaga evolve and let her bring whatever comes next.

So yes, initial listen wasn’t the best but after finally getting the official album on Spotify, this is a great album. I’d give it an 8/10.

I’m in USA and 19 minutes left until album release. I’ve heard bits of the songs on TikTok. I’ve seen many negative comments on TikTok about the album and how people were expecting darker a la TFM and BTW. Many comments from people let down with the album. Is the album really not that good??

These people are fake 143 loving haters sucking on the zipple of 2009 pay them no attention

what a wild ride -- I can't wait to listen over and over again.

I was shook after the first seven songs -- Disease to Zombieboy is Gaga's best back to back tracks since ARTPOP: It could probably revive a heart attack victim.

Besides Michael's two songs, this album is her best since ARTPOP, imo. can't wait to see how these songs grow with me, y'all, and the general public. +1 for Zombieboy being a single.

OK…HI!

so… long a$$ reply ahead (if you don’t appreciate my takes like some amazing ones in here do just move on bye)

first thoughts: AMAZING, VERY EMOTIONAL AND PERSONAL WORK,  She really said “I’m gonna make something I’ve haven’t done before, but how do I do that being Lady freaking Gaga ?”

so she made Mayhem. :legend:

I wish I’d comment of every single song here but the individual treads are better for that. I’m heading to my fourth listen and so far it’s only behind TFM and BTW because it’s absolutely tied with ARTPOP as the 3rd best album of Gaga. I say that confidently. I’m not gonna change my mind until she puts out any album that’s better than these. Mayhem is just that bish.

she sounds mature and unafraid, it has more diversity than her previous and it’s still coherent.

lyrically she’s just bold, she sounds like someone who is happy to be in control of her own life.

”You love to hate me”

I gagged. she really doesn’t care, y’all. she’s an artist, she’ll make what her heart and her mind tells her to, it’s her truth. when you spend so much time and energy being negative and hating it’s just no different than being a fan. you’re already involved. LOOOOOOVE PERFECT CELEBRITY. she went fearless for a different sound and I need more tracks like that from her in the future.

Garden of Eden is absolutely slutt* pop realness and amazing omg everything I hoped for and more.

*Listens to Vanish Into You for the first time* : :fatcat::saira::kry::worship2::traumatica: yes, I cried obviously. OMG prob the best song on Mayhem but there are strong contenders. Definitely one of my favorite songs she’s ever done.

Zombieboy: B* WTF! lol OMG I’m still processing. I grew up in the 90’s with parents who enjoyed the 70’s so when it comes to DISCO my ears are trained and for that it’s CERTIFIED BANGER.

Shadow of a Slay, she went all in for a different groovy and throwback pop. love the MJ/The Weeknd vibes. she DEFINITELY needs more tracks like this.

also loved LoveDrug, so 80s, gave me Carly Rae vibes! the other songs are very good, they just didn’t impress as much at first listen.

only criticism is I think a song or two would work better as bonus tracks in a deluxe version and another industrial infused song instead.

Mayhem: 8.8

I think Don’t Call Tonight could’ve been a bonus and Cant Stop The High (if it does hit harder than PC as she said) should’ve been on the main album
