Democrats had 4 years to try and do something to stop it, prevent it, protect from the worst of it

but instead chose to do nothing

I mean you aren't wrong.

But is the plan for the next 4 years to sit around and talk about how the Democrats did nothing or is the plan to oppose what shouldn't be happening?

Like are we performing or do we care? Whats the plan guys

There is no level of protection more powerful and unyielding than a constitutional amendment and the 14th amendment already enshrines birthright citizenship pretty explicitly. There is nothing more to be done on that particular subject from a codifying standpoint.

Wait you’re confusing me, people don’t want Trump to do something that would go against the constitution, but I’ve seen countless of comments before about banning guns and how a “piece of paper” written years ago shouldn’t matter and we need to get rid of that amendment etc.

If people care that much they should campaign for a new constitutional amendment- on either of these issues

There's a difference between advocating Constitutional change & choosing to ignore the constitution.

Not sure how that's a confusing concept.

the 2nd amendment allows for regulation of firearms, the 14th amendment is absolute. They aren’t saying the constitution doesn’t matter.

How can you protect against someone violating the constitution? This makes no sense. This is a constitutional amendment.

Democrats could have written a Super Constitution to overrule the old one. They didn't which means they're complicit and responsible for everything Trump does. Exactly.

For anyone who needs a US history/legal lesson lol

You know we are cooked if he’s actually allowed to do this.

there’s no need to be snarky, I was genuinely just asking. There’s been plenty of people who have said the amendment needs to be gone and no one should own firearms, or that it doesn’t matter what people from years ago had decided about how US citizens should live life

Ah I did not know that, thanks :)

That was in Project 2025 I think. The immigrant Trump voters who refused to believe Project 2025 was a real thing will be shook
