My favorite albums are ARTPOP and Joanne. Both are full of color, very loud and boisterous spiritually, and I actually consider this "dark aesthetic" to be a kind of backslide.

I'm cool with dark sounding production like Disease. Something heavy and full. But I don't really care for dark and gothic looks (TFM, much of BTW, TCBT, Disease video).

I know that's a deeply unpopular opinion though but if she were to do this kind of look for the whole era I'd probably regard it in the same way a lot of people here regard Lil Nas X giving Satan a lap dance or playing basketball dressed as Jesus.

All this said, I do absolutely NEED a brunette era. Someone needs to slap the bleach out of her stylists' hands and let her natural hair color show more

I said in another thread that I can see the album cover be somewhat in Caroline Polacheks aesthetic/artworks, in a Gaga-way though.

 

I did see on the discord server a fanart concept cover, it was b&w and very gothy/grunge/horror while ”gaga” sat on a horse. That was a serve!!!

Like if it will be black and white it needs to be very detailed and evocative, b&w can be so basic and cheap and take away the feeling. She succeeded with TFM but……
