I agree. I believe the bad outweighs the good. Not just tiktok, but the focus on hypershortform content and insistence of a social media site as a valid, credible news source in general is a net negative. We can do all the same things on an app, blog, website, whatever that isn't actively decreasing the attention spans and critical thinking of people with developing brains and/or an American (read as subpar) education.
