Biagio2103 5,427
So we got confirmation of DWAS being part of LG7, and I think people are now seeing it as a good thing. I was giving it a thought the other day and I think LG7 will be adapted to match DWAS' concept somehow. I think we can all agree that Gaga doesn't have the same commercial power she used to back in the day. She was able to easily debut on the top 10 based on sales only, and the "we want dark Gaga back" narrative obviously didn't match "Disease"'s reception. Gaga is extremely talented, dedicated and authentic, and it's amazing how she manages to merges her music into her side projects. That being said, shaping LG7 to fit DWAS somehow due to its massive success, seems like the right choice from every perspective. Interscope is not going to invest on her unless she can deliver numbers, that's just a fact, so whether we like it or not, Gaga has to be strategic, even if that means sacrificing some of her artistry. She'll always feed us with what we want, that's what she loves, but at the end of the day she's still signed to a record label and we still live in a competitive business, so she needs to meet demands in order to do what she wants. It's been theorized a lot that LG5 was originally a dark album, but at the time Gaga was still trying to fix the damage that ARTPOP caused, so a more personal, soft album was the way to go. This paid off, as Gaga got multiple gigs that had significant impact on her career, from the SB halftime show to starring A Star Is Born. This would probably be the case for LG7 as well. Gaga had a major backlash because of JFAD, we all know it is not her fault the GP didn't like the movie, but she was the easy target, considering she's a singer and they turned the movie into a musical. She also hasn't had a song this big since Shallow, and the Chromatica era was a bit chaotic due to Covid, BLM and all. Other female artists have done this and it paid off. Rihanna initially released three singles for ANTi; "FourFiveSeconds", "B**** Better Have My Money" and "American Oxygen" (plus she released a soundtrack around this time that also didn't do well). The former was actually a hit, but not as big as Rihanna's previous lead singles. It was her first lead single to not reach top 3 on the Hot 100. The latter two didn't do well on the charts at all (BBHMM ended up becoming a slow-burner, but it took several years). Rihanna then changed the concept of the album and started again with "Work", one of the biggest hits of her career. It was followed by "Needed Me" and "Love on the Brain", also massive hits. On the other hand, Ariana scrapped the original concept of her third album Moonlight due to the poor reception of "Focus", many people found the song too similar to "Problem", her biggest hit at the time. She released "Dangerous Woman", in which she focused more on her vocal abilities and a more provocative side that she hadn't explored at that time. With a new concept that was seen as fresh and unapologetic, she released the album now retitled Dangerous Woman and had two of her biggest hits right after, "Into You" and "Side to Side". Keeping this in mind, I don't think Gaga will scrap "Disease", but she will have to do some changes on LG7 to sound cohesive with "Die with a Smile" and create a narrative that will help the album appeal to the GP, as we will need a much appeal as possible to get a hit after the album drops. Please do not consider this as a slander to Gaga, Disease, Rihanna, Ariana, anyone or anything mentioned in here, this is just for discussion purposes. I'm only good at being bad 7 1 5
A Very Gaga Holida 20,924
That kinda makes me think life (or lives) is the central point of the record. Disease, Die With A Smile, Zombified and for some reason I feel that the title of the album will contain something directly related to that. La Vie En Noir 🖤 Spoiler I mean… — The Fame — The Fame Monster — Born This Way — ARTPOP — Joanne — Chromatica — La Vie En Noir I don’t know, it just feels right… my mind Edited Thursday at 10:52 PM by A Very Gaga Holida 1
Delulu Rogers 6,935
Isn’t the album finished by now? Doesn’t she need to send it off months in advance for vinyl pressing? How can she change the sound of the whole album at this stage? Also, disease could have been a fun minor hit with physicals and performances. HelloHangoverz 15,613
DWAS will just be tacked on as a bonus track at the end to try and boost the albums performance imo, it goes no deeper than that my head is filled with broken mirrors, so many I can't look away 19

Kayi 1,163
I think she maybe replaced an original LG7 ballad with this one. She said that a ballad didn't made the cut but she would like to release it later. Look at this article. https://x.com/gaga_latest/status/1869725280732065880 I think that DWAS still match with LG7 themes cause it's dreamy, spiritual and dark. I do think that LG7 starts with dark themes, and ends up with positive songs like this one. I'm here to take a break from university homeworks :/

Plastic Flower 3,805
I think it’s a little late for such change to happen. The way she described the situation makes it seem like she and Interscope simply added it as the last track. I don’t think this changes a lot anyway, considering that she has described LG7 as chaotic and so many different genres before that. A lot of people will be disappointed when it’s not a cohesive dark pop album. At this point I’m convinced Disease is track 2 the latest. I hope nothing changes from what she has done to LG7 already just to please other people. The only thing I want is that she puts Die With A Smile at the end like a bonus track and NOTHING else is changed. No removed songs, no replaced songs. I hope she doesn’t think she “needs to appeal to the general public” to get another hit. Disease sounds like she’s finally gotten that Fame Monster / Born This Way / ARTPOP passion back. She got a massive hit with Die With A Smile and is a legacy artist that can take risks at this point in her career. 3
