Its funny how when a big dog goes over the top and starts a lawsuit, suddenly all the vultures swoop in with their own.

It sounds like a typical breach of contract thing that was coming anyway

I couldn’t care less about any of this and it feels like such a distraction. The media hoopla around this is so insane. Why do we care about these people?

We have absolutely no need to pay attention to this drama while our government is on the verge of being gutted by the richest man in the world.

People love their slop though.

Such a weird situation.

I guess they wanted the F-blake sentiment to die down before all of this? At first I thought it would make more sense for this/Blake's lawsuit during the drama but I guess waiting was much better.

There’s journalistic news and then there’s entertainment news. Both can exist at the same time. People can care about politics and stories about celebrities. We’re all capable of caring about different things on all levels of seriousness all at once.

I don’t care about this story, but that doesn’t mean entertainment news should cease to exist because the government is a mess.

I mean, we’re literally on an online forum about Gaga.

Some of the time inbetween will just have been a natural result of evidence gathering etc rather than a deliberate ploy.

It must be nice to be a lawyer that caters to Hollywood.

I actually think we should care a lot that a woman endured harassment in the work place and when she tried to get away from it her male senior+ harasser publicly orchestrated a smear campaign against her to cast doubt on her story.

This is happening in every professional workplace all over the country and will only get worse when the Trump administration moves in. It is important that someone as visible and public as Blake Lively takes this on because it casts a light onto a pervasive issue that goes far beyond Hollywood. The more we see public pushback against harassment and antagonization of women, the more women will be willing to push back against their own harassment.

Perhaps instead of getting on your better than though high horse you can consider what a woman who is not a celebrity thinks or feels when she sees you and other reducing a woman publicly defending herself against harassment to “slop.”

This isn’t some celebrity gossip case. This is a woman being very loudly and publicly discredited because she dared speak up against a powerful man’s mistreatment of her.

The total dismissal of this is exactly what Trump and MAGAts want you to do. You’re doing their playbook for them by not caring and normalizing the idea that a woman standing up for herself is inconvenient noise. Your whole post sounds like every blue check conservative’s response to a woman speaking out against abuse.

See my post above. Perfect example of what I just said. Reducing a serious matter to a personal inconvenience.

I swear to god some of y’alls inherent need to be shady absolutely clouds your ability to see important **** happening right in front of you. Absolutely insane that a woman coming forward about being harassed by a powerful man who tried to destroy her reputation is being met with a groan of “I want to stop hearing about this”.

Let’s not pretend that top news are equally journalist vs Entertainment.

The social media engagement is also extremely lop sided when it comes to what gets people’s attention. Frankly, even before the sexual harassment allegation, there was a weird media frenzy around this story that felt completely unwarranted. Meanwhile, by the looks of it, our media is about to fall into the hands of an ever smaller elite. Crickets. No media frenzy. Thousands of people aren’t chiming in.

Isn't this a personal matter that needs to be settled in court?  Isn't this embarrassing for her to begin with?

This story is spreading due to dueling publicty agencies trying to push their side of the story, so who really knows the facts?  How much of what we're hearing is just speculation and gossip to judge a situation when we weren't there?

Let the lawyers, the judge, and publicists figure it out.

As far as sexual harassment goes, of course it's wrong and should be shunned and discouraged.  Employees of any company should know the red lines and respect workplace ethics.
