TW: US Gay Couple Get 100 Years in Prison for SA

I heard about this case at least a year or two ago? So I wouldn't worry about it affecting how people view us LGBTQ people. All I know is these are two disgusting henius individuals. We had the case of baby Star here in the UK, the abusing couple were lesbians and social services were afraid to be called labelled homophobic. The reason I bring this up is because the fact there are pictures of this couple and their kids wearing rainbow shirts and the whole "love is love" type of thing makes me wonder if they had the same tactics in mind. But again, the US is a lot different to here in the UK. All I know is these two are vile individuals who have scarred innocent souls for life.

But yeah I listened to one of the guys phone calls from prison being a crybaby about how bad it is there etc. This was quite a while back. Maybe think of how your children felt whilst you were abusing them

Now that you mention it, this case is familiar. I wonder why it's getting reported again. Maybe because of the sentencing?

Which is very unfair, I worked for cps for a year (had to quit because it was mentally unbearable) and the cases I’ve read about straight couple is equally as bad. Too bad they don’t get the same publicity.

frankly, those pedophiles deserve to be euthanised. theres so many disgusting aspects to this.

those poor children will never be the same, i just hope they get all the support and love they need in the future. do you know how difficult it is for gay couples to adopt? and then go through all of that, and then to put these children who already had a rough start in life through something that is just beyond depraved.

on top of all that, this case could potentially affect other gay couples in the future looking to adopt.

I’m extremely desensitized but this has haunted me the whole day after reading it. How could anyone (let alone spouses???) do this to innocent children in their care?

No the sexuality is wholly irrelevant especially bc abuse in adoption isn’t exactly uncommon, sadly. This story is literally only a story bc they’re gay. How often do we hear other child abuse adoption stories despite their relative frequency?

They adopted the boys through a Christian adoption agency. 

The rift between homosexual individuals and Christian organizations will just be made worse by stories like this.

This feels like very circular logic, it is not worth noting.

I've seen this story floating around Twitter on right wing pages with names like "END WOKENESS" and other crap. Make no mistake that this case is being weaponised by conservatives to demonise LGBTQI families and the images they show where they are at pride events or celebrating their pride is done purposefully to associate this crime with the LGBTQI community. I promise you there are many photos of this family that do not show them dressed up in rainbows.

These people are absolutely sick, there is no disputing that, however let's be clear that this particular case is blowing up and the sexuality of the parents are being so heavily focused on because of an anti-LGBTQI agenda - not because these articles are trying to highlight how Christian adoption agencies may react or how this may inflame anti-LGBTQI sentiments.

Unfortunately there are children being abused by their birth parents and adoptive parents every day, the vast majority in heteronormative families.
