That was an obvious self defense case, while this is intentional with a manifesto

I’m sorry, Kyle crossed state lines with an assault weapon to purposefully clash with protestors he ideologically opposed. Rittenhouse fully intended to kill people in Kenosha.

1) Kyle crossed state lines without a weapon one day before the protest

2) He did cross states, but its a 20 minute drive from where he lived, and its a community he was involved in, and its where his father works.

3) Kyle carried a weapon because the cops announced they will do nothing about BLM protest looting small businesses and cars, so locals felt the need to protect the area from being destroyed.

4) Kyle did nothing but stand in the way of looters, and because of that, they chased him, physically attacked him, and shot a gun at him. Only then did he feel the need to protect himself while running away from them.

5) Im not saying Kyle is good or right about what he did, but this case is an obvious self defense case.

I'm really tired of this argument. Good whataboutism exists. We need to be able to call out hypocrisy.

Its not hypocricy though, you cant compare an intentional killing, to a self defense one.

He crossed over state lines with the intention of getting into an altercation….. if you bring any for of deadly weapon to a situation where you KNOW you’re gonna use said deadly weapon………. He’s a killer. He set himself up in a particular situation where he knew he’d shoot at protestors. Unless he was as dumb as a box of rocks, he knew what he was getting into. Kyle should be in prison just like Luigi. At least Luigi killed a state-sanctioned murderer.

Chromanne

This is the consequence for murder. I don't think there is any good outcome out of this on the system. The CEO will be just replaced by a different person who may stand by the same policies unless the change come from lawmakers. It's unfortunate but it's true.

Also, not y'all acting like he's your boyfriend. He wouldn't care about your existence :deadbanana:

"He crossed over state lines with the intention of getting into an altercation"

There is no evidence that he had any intention of getting into an altercation. The only evidence we have is he wanted to protect small business communities from being destroyed after cops announced they will do nothing.

"if you bring any for of deadly weapon to a situation where you KNOW you’re gonna use said deadly weapon………. He’s a killer"

We have no evidence that he knew he was going to use the weapon

"He set himself up in a particular situation where he knew he’d shoot at protestors. Unless he was as dumb as a box of rocks, he knew what he was getting into."

I disagree, but would you apply your argument towards the BLM protestors and say they set themselves up to be killed?

"Kyle should be in prison just like Luigi. At least Luigi killed a state-sanctioned murderer."

Yeah im not against what Luigi did, and im against what Kyle did, but there is no denying Luigi is a murderer, while Kyle is not

Yeah im not against what Luigi did, and im against what Kyle did, but there is no denying Luigi is a murderer, while Kyle is not

BML protestors: * rightfully and violently protests against the racism that’s allowed within the country*

cops: we ain’t doing anything

Kyle: *goes to said violent protests with deadly weapons*

Kyle: shoots/kills people

yeah sorry, he’s a killer just like Luigi. Kyle’s not a little kid, he knew what he was getting into.

idk why I’m even arguing with someone over this, but yeah, both are killers but at least Luigi didn’t kill protestors, just a mass-murderer that was given the “okay” by the government

Kyle was very clearly ideologically motivated and calling the people whom he ended up killing “looters” isn’t especially accurate, but we’ll agree to disagree on this.

Everything you said is false though!

I support BLM, but what was happening in that location was not a protest, it was openly looting and destroying small businesses and neighborhoods.

Cops did not say they wouldnt do anything about the protest, they said they wouldnt do anything about small businesses and cars being destroyed

Kyle did not kill people because people were looting, he killed them because they chased him while physically attacking him and shooting a gun at him first

If you keep using false information, we will talk in circle and our debate will be about me correcting you, which I think is useless..

I did not call the people he killed looters, I said Kyle went there to stop the looting, and because of that, two men chased him down while physically attacking him, and a third man started firing his gun.

And its okay to be ideologically driven, even if I disagree with Kyle, he has the right to defend small businesses if the cops make a public announcement saying they wont do their job.

My only issue with Kyle is he was underage, and underage people shouldnt handle these kind of situations, as it will end up badly. Grown men with experience with legal guns and hard situations are the ones who should protect businesses, not an underage kid.

The first person he killed was unarmed and the only thing he did was throw a plastic bag with a toothbrush at him and Rittenhouse shot him four times. If nothing else, that is clearly at least unnecessary force if not murder. The second person he killed chased him after he had already murdered an unarmed person because he thought Rittenhouse was a mass shooter and attacked him with a skateboard and was fatally shot at point blank range, while the third (and only armed) person pursued him with a gun *after* he had already killed two people. Showing up to a protest with a gun is already an incredibly adversarial thing to do, but to fire it so recklessly at people who are clearly outmatched because they are unarmed is, at best, insanely irresponsible and, at worst, probably exactly what he intended to do. Lethal force was in no way justified in response to his first two victims and the third only pursued him with a gun after he had already killed two unarmed individuals, so even that’s a tougher sell in terms of self-defense imo.

If you are going to assume everything bad about Kyle because he went armed to a protest, the other side were also armed, and they were the ones who used the gun first. The other side used the gun while chasing Kyle down, while Kyle used the gun while running away from their gun shoot.

The first guy did not just throw a bag on Kyle, he was chasing him down and physically attacking him, and a gun was shot behind Kyle. Kyle thought the person attacking him was the sooter, so he defended himself by shooting at him. I dont blame the second person for thinking Kyle is a mass shooter, but also Kyle was being chased by men physically attacking him and shooting at him.

Clearly Kyle was reckless, and he should be punished, but I wouldnt say he murdered anyone, it was a clear self defense.
