Yeah because thats the target audience the movie is marketing to

And the normies going to the movie are also expecting a typical action Batman movie

No they weren't expecting that. The first Joker wasn't an action film and was a huge success, grossing over $1 billion.

I am arguing that the people that actually saw JFAD are not a representative slice of the population, which was why the reaction to it was so skewed. Not that many “normies” ultimately made it out to the theater to see it because all the Joker incels ranted about how bad it was and scared them off.

While the incel bros were a reliable demographic for the movie, it wasn’t the sole target demographic. Warner Bros clearly wanted/expected a wide swath of adults to see the movie based on their marketing campaign; also bear in mind that the first Joker didn’t make $1 billion by solely comic book nerds seeing it.

All that to say, the dislike for the movie overwhelmingly originated from a specific group of people that saw it, which in turn scared off a more varied audience from experiencing it…which in turn prevented a more favorable and balanced opinion of the movie from manifesting.

Your original statement implies that the movie is just bad and additional opinions as more folks see it are unlikely to move the needle of public opinion, while I think that is patently untrue for the reasons I elaborated on above.

The original Joker was still a typical action Batman movie, but it went dark and psychological, but its still a typical action Batman movie. The new Joker is an artistic musical created for the wrong audience.

Yes I think most people will hate the movie regardless of the impact of incels. Even if it was targeted to the right audience, I dont think the movie was done good. I personally enjoyed it because of the message, but I dont think it was done good, I barely enjoyed it.

Well, HBO Max is saying 'Decide for yourself,' so let's let the GP do that.

It wasn't an action film by any means. I don't think you're using the term action right here tbf.

I just don’t want this to start another Gaga hate train :bradley:

You can see how hard she’s been working to move on past the JFAD bombing

overhated? yes
still not good? yes

I think the movie was pretty good at the beginning but then it got redundant and when you thought you gonna get something interesting, they do an awful and unnecesary SA scene and everything goes downhill in the worst way...

I've seen 2 fan edits of the entire movie that fix the plot way better (one of them ended with the rooftop fantasy scene and it is a great ide imo)

BTW i've seen much better opinions on the scenes posted on youtube, facebook, etc. Like the people who have watched for the first time now is not hating it at all.

Lets see as I personally enjoyed it, and I hope people would love movies like this, but I would not recommend it to anyone I know as I know they wont like it

Reddit, I'm looking forward to another one but the user who did it asks you to have the original copy (digital or BR) first and be level 10 on a forum, so im working on that. The other two guys i asked them on reddit and they send me the link with no problems. I could DM you.
