It's a little cringe to me telling everyone your plans beforehand, I love spontaneity (or at least the illusion of it), but I know she's definitely going to win a Grammy so we will definitely hear it and I'm excited.

I didn't read her exact quote before commenting lmaoo and it's very... conversational. Headline is a little sensational.

Can y’all people actually try to watch the actual interview and use the context of her tone and the whole conversation to actually form your opinion on her statement( which is a light hearted joke in the episode btw) instead of just putting your assumptions right into her mouth and picturing her being snobby or whatever it’s a JOKE????

I got annoyed by her just like anyone would but this is actually PISSING ME OFF. The is the perfect example of people never double check any source and read a quick summary of any so called headline and immediately jumping the gun. Most of you would never hesitated to mock people for being easily riled up and yet here we are. Y’all are so effing sad and this is why I rarely come to this site anymore.

I like her music. I can see how announcing you would do this can seem a little annoying or pretentious. I think she should have just not mentioned it and surprised us. 
 

On the other hand, it further shows her support for the trans community. I’ve  read so much negativity towards the trans community and I can only hope Chappell showing support can encourage others to speak up and get involved in helping the community. She is using her platform on the Carpool Karaoke episode to make her voice be heard, and she would use the Grammys as an even larger platform if given that chance. Like we sometimes see fans complaining their fave has been silent on issues so this is the opposite.

It would have also been cool for her to surprise us and give us a wow moment like Gaga at the VMA’s with the Dont Ask Dont Tell discharged vets. Like use your platform to beautifully make a statement. Dont strive for “controversy,” strive for making your statement and the conversation will follow.

She wants her Fiona Apple moment so badly. So far her career has consisted of her being controversial just for the sake of it, rather than doing anything tangible. Yeah she has shed light on very important issues, but you need to be doing them because you care for those issues, not because you have some innate need to be controversial
