hELXIG 43,038
Hi I was inspired by the other thread to make this one because the shows OP doesn't like coincidentally were all shows I remember putting off and then loving (NOT trying to change your mind OP I just found it funny) I put off watching The Office for about 17 years because I thought it looked stupid and the fans were annoying and obsessed.. and then ended up watching all 9 seasons, unable to stop binging just re-watched it all for a second time Same thing for Parks And Rec and The Walking Dead! Watched P&R to the end and loved it, although I did fall off TWD because imo it went downhill around season 7 original thread.. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. 1

Roughhouse Dandy 11,532
Euphoria got advertised to me as a mature Degrassi knockoff and that's the opposite of my vibe. After finishing a Six Feet Under rewatch at like 2am it popped up on recommended because the season 1 finale just does. Ended up binging the whole season instead of sleeping. Through all the shady rumors and hate train towards it I still maintain it's one of the greatest modern tv series. Acting, direction, cinematography, editing, makeup, hair, costuming, lighting and set design, writing (most of the time) are all top tier. I haven't seen the Israeli series it's based on so idk how much of it came from that but reading the screenplays cemented my opinion. No matter how much of it was lifted from the original, Sam Levinson did his big one with Euphoria. Also, shouts out to VEEP and Schitt's Creek. Both surprising bangers. See I'm sure it's a really good show, otherwise the whole entire world wouldn't have been raving about it. And I've seen clips and it looks so good. But there's just something in my brain where I can't stop thinking about the fact they're supposed to be teenagers. Like that's a SIXTEEN year old doing all that ****.. I don't wanna watch 16 yr olds have sex. Idk why they always base shows like this in HIGH SCHOOL. Like it makes no sense to me why it has to be a school full of kids. Just make it a university and the whole thing is solved Anyway that's my rant maybe one day I'll give it a go Also I've heard a lot of good things about Veep, and Schitt's Creek was also a surprising banger for me too! I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Lucas 27,048
The Crown! I don't care at all about the royal family but during quarantine I decided to give the show a try and I was hooked from the first episode. 2

I think I'm just desensitized to it from sh*t like growing up doing Spring Awakening and watching the Peanuts characters do vile things in Dog Sees God. But I suggest giving Euphoria a go! They all look grown asf (bc they are irl) so unless they're actively in school I don't think too much about it. VEEP feels like a mean-spirited The Office on steroids. I had low hopes considering it was a video game adaptation but they clearly put a lot of effort into getting it right. Can't wait for season two! I just started 3 Body Problem last night. I struggle to watch shows that have hour long episodes but I'm gonna keep trying to watch it. I watched episode 1 and half of episode 2 and I'm already invested I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Oriane 21,101
This is a harder question, I usually don't start watching series I'm sure I won't like I was doubtful about Arcane but I watched it because someone told me he thought it was really good even though he didn't play LOL, so I gave it a try and I was so right Friends, Monk, Malcolm in the middle: they were released when I was very little so I always had the idea that it was old and corny shows despite not watching it, just from hearing about it. Then I watched a few episodes by chance, which pushed me to watch the whole thing. I'm not sure why I started watching Jane the Virgin, probably some reviews saying it was not as expected and a lot better than a classic telenovela, and I'm grateful I listened to them! I watched the first episode of Community years ago and didn't like it. I'm not sure why I decided to give it another chance years later, but I don't regret it. It becomes so much better afterwards and is totally unexpected. If you love cinema, you should at least watch the first season to get an idea. I gave WandaVision a chance because everybody was talking so much about it. I couldn't see the appeal in a superhero thing, but then I watched it and realized the concept itself was great.
