I reacted to some of your posts because I thought your behaviour was laughable. Degenerate & degeneracy has a long history of use as a slur used in the promotion of bigotry. As does uncivilised. It has been used through out history in America superficially to target and attack minorities. It was repeatedly used and sometimes still sees use as a way of pushing white supremacist narratives about black men & black women. It has been used repeatedly against Lesbians and Gay men especially during the 70s/80s and the AIDS crisis. It is currently often used by transphobes. You're ignorance of this is not a defence. So yes, that kind of language in what should be a civil debate on this forum is going to piss people off and put a target on your back. And tbh I do think the shooter was justified. People have spent decades following the "civilised" and respectful way of handling political issues and all that has happened in America is that the likes of that CEO have increased their exploitation. Am I really supposed to cry that a man who led a company that profitted off the deliberate removal of people's healthcare and forced physical, emotional and mental pain onto countless thousands of people got shot dead? By all reports he died almost instantly, he faced less pain than the majority of his victims ever have. If you want me to address your argument. Then here. I think it is ridiculous and speaks to your character that you are more animated and offended by the death of an abuser being celebrated than you are by the abuse he propagated against thousands of desperate people in their hour of deepest need. Thank you for informing me on the background of that word, as I was genuinely ignorant to that. That does put things into perspective. However, I see this word used all the time even by demographics you mentioned it having been used against in the past, basically as a way to describe things and behaviors that are distasteful. But again, never did I say people ‘should cry’ over the murdered CEO (I literally emphasized that he’s an awful person) … I just think ‘celebrating’ the death of another human being is sociopathic and concerning. But most importantly, I said ALL aspects of the situation are tragic. That includes his death, but mostly includes the state of healthcare in the US that led up to the events and Luigi Mangione’s fate, which doesn’t seem like a promising one. Nor was Skallas advocating for people to kill CEOs. But the situation and mind-set Skallas described does speak to a lot of young men like Luigi, young and educated but without intense responsibilities or much hope for the future. This subset of society has always overproduced terrorists, revolutionaries and, of course, mass shooters. The United States has a mass shooter culture. Over the last several decades, since Columbine, we have grown used to the idea that people who are angry and no longer care if they live or die will sometimes choose to go down killing strangers. In most cases these shootings are utterly random, the victims chosen with no concern beyond maximum body count and maximum attention. -- Luigi Mangione grew up with all this. He would have come to the same conclusions about the role shootings play in our society as any other reasonably aware person. What he did was, of course, not a mass shooting. But the assassination, his actions afterwards, and his possession of a manifesto were all clearly plotted out by someone who knew the social script for how this kinda thing goes in the USA. 1 1
Defmix100 5,948
Has he said he's innocent? I saw that mentioned somewhere but don't know if he actually said that, but if he is then any manifesto wouldn't be his right? The whole thing seems strange

I have a similar opinion. This supposed culprit who the online praises has lost his bright future. The man was smart, handsome and talented, but it's all going to waste. The awful person in question has died quickly without him realising what he had done. The culprit will suffer for a longer term than him. He could've challenged him legally and make him regret for what he had done. Maybe I'm too delusional to believe in happy endings, but even if the awful man won the legal battle, atleast there will be a whole bunch of people who will be aware of his misdeeds, futher ruining his reputation. I find the overwhelmingly lighthearted, comical reaction from people online the worst. There’s nothing humorous about this whatsoever. EDIT: I put ‘every angle’ in bold to highlight that part of my comment. It seems that a lot of people in this thread either accidentally or deliberately misinterpreted my comment as a way to dismiss the motives behind the murder, namely the state of the US healthcare system and its respective political issues. My comment is not and was never meant to be read as me merely prioritizing the death of the murdered CEO or the prosecution of Luigi, it was about me emphasizing how disturbing all elements involved are, combined with the - from my perspective - deeply inappropriate, wildspread responses it garnered online. Literally saying a bunch of nothing.

And all the while, judging by everything I’ve seen online about it (and it was a lot) are talking about his appearance (largely in a disgusting, degenerate oversexualized manner) and making light of the situation. Just horrible imo. But I’m sorry I guess. How do you feel about murderers rapists & pedophiles getting murdered?? Religion is a product to sell. Death is an easy way out for people that commit these types of crimes and harm victims, and sometimes denies victims and/or victim’s loved ones the opportunity to confront their abusers/murderers and be able to get proper justice. Being against violence and murder doesn’t mean being against retribution when it comes to these matters.

But then again, many incels have copied and idolized other school shooters, so I got concern (altho I think the ideology behind Luigi isn’t as violent as the incel one so idk) Lets just hope this is a funny practical joke lol
