Yeah the variants thing is gross, especially the state it got to in the TTPD era.
That said, while I do think her label etc are very interested in the profits - I feel like Taylor's sole motivation isn't the profit but rather the chart success. She's craved it like an addict ever since that Kanye moment in 2009.

Well, I don't personally care about the charts. Sis can chase them all she wants. It's the massive accumulation of wealth that I find disgusting.

For whatever it's worth (not a lot), I won't be giving her any breaks as long as she has a ten figure bank account :madge:

no matter what anyone says she worked soooo hard on this tour. 3 hours and a half for 139 dates around the world, released 3 albums during the tour, lots of music videos etc..etc...she is work so hard and I am proud of her. She is the only popstar i am ok with her doing more than Gaga success wise because works hard for it

Agreed! Not a fan of Taylor at all really but she has worked her ass off for the last few years and put the hours in on her tour, whilst releasing new music and filming plus still attending events. She has done a brilliant job

but you can say it for every single concert and not just about Taylor's one, so the impact to the economy is very little, for every concert these people would spend more or less the same, inside the UK.

A person who lives outside of London, would take the same bus to Charlie's concert and to Taylor's concert and they would spend the same amount of money for accommodation.

Except for food and maybe outfits (not everyone is buying new clothes for a concert), merch gain will go to the artist, sometimes they merch is tax free, so the country will gain 0 from the sale.

So it is really an exaggerating to say that it has a big impact on the economy.

Local businesses from many cities accross the world have highlighted how Taylor's audience is way more generous than the usual concert-goer. They tip very well, buy a lot, attend a lot of Taylor themed events and hang out with other Swifties in-mass all accross the city.

This doesnt happen at most other concerts because their audience simply doesn't care like that about the artist outside of being at the concert itself.

This can be seen with Taylor's visit to Australia, which coincided with P!nk's record-breaking stadium run (she was doing like double the shows and therefore way more attendance), but it fell under the radar because the entire news cycle and public attention was on Taylor being there.

In all fairness, P!nk doing a massive record breaking tour of Australia isn't exactly groundbreaking or news at this point.

I say this as a P!nk fan 😂 legit every tour since Funhouse has seen her break records, generate the majority of the tour's gross figures and her last 2 concert films were filmed down under.

So I can see why the Aussies may have been "ah its the flying lady again" 😂
