I mean this whole website is devoted to a woman who has made it very clear over the years that she believes in God and has faith.

I don’t personally, but I don’t mind if someone else does as long as they don’t make other people’s lives worse as a result of it. As far as I know, Gwen has always been very kind and supportive of all people, so her Christianity isn’t a big deal to me.

I don't care about her being a christian or talking about it.

But I think what we're not focusing on properly is that a pay4prayer app is disgusting in any faith. I can't think of a single faith where it doesn't violate the tenants. And it brings to mind the Christian story of Jesus throwing the merchants out of the temple.

And then as someone has pointed out, the app has connections to very controversial & problematic people which again is something to discuss and critique.

Idk. Gwen has always shown us who she was,  so to speak.

I'll never forget reading an interview about Gwen in 2009, with Jimmy Iovine --- where he said that Gwen could have been what Gaga was if she had wanted to , but she didn't want to.

She's told us for years in interviews and even songs all she wanted was to be a good wife, have kids and make dinners.

She's got that now, with a guy who isn't gonna screw the nanny (hopefully!!)

I mean I'll always stan what she was to me, she was pivotal in my existence from age 11 to even last year --- her music and her message and her pure essence of fun and enthusiasm motivated me no end as an abused girl growing up.

This sudden religion thing --- while in her right  --- did throw me off, but i comforted my shock in knowing that she did come from a conservative family (her mom used to reprimand/ discipline when she cursed on stage) and that she's always shown us who she was.

I can still kinda stan her loosely without feeling obligated to watch one stitch of religious stuff.

I do know my friend Bay was like, nope, I'm out not stanning anymore. And I get that.

I'll always have a soft spot for her.

Religious or not the Hallow app is very strange, having celebs do the prayers and such. Maybe because wasn't exposed to Catholicism and don't understand the many prayers they use.

As an atheist, I am all for others believing whatever makes them happy. Just leave me alone with it all. And, of course, Gwen can believe anyway she deems fit.

However, I do find making money off one's religion SUPER tacky. Especially is something as egregiously capitalistic as a "prayer" app. It's given snake oil saleswoman vibes. It's just so...tasteless.

Gwen has every right to do it. And I have every right to roll my eyes at it.
