I think you can understand what she means from the context in which it is written (that, and it may also be a promoted message). If that's your truth, it doesn't mean you're invalidating other people's perspectives. It simply means you believe that to be true. I think religion is very unnecessarily demonized. Of course, there are troubling aspects to it, like with everything, but people nowadays tend to view religion as a lesser way of experiencing life compared to what they consider "logical" or "scientific" conclusions. That perspective also seems like generalizing and celebrating "the only truth", which is a very religious perspective as well. Yes, it's okay to value science, but science and religion can coexist in many ways. And it's fine if you believe they cannot coexist, but that's your prerogative. It's not something objective. It cannot be objective because of its very nature. I know many religious scientists who are deeply devoted to human achievement and logic. Not saying anything to you specifically. But I think the topic is much more complex. Former First Lady of the United States.
