The right just wants any excuse to keep her as a boogeyman because they know she has some sway within the Democratic base. She’s basically the only one left at this point, but we already know she wants to keep gaining experience in Congress. 
 

One of those governors who were being vetted for VP should wise up and start beefing up their profile now so they have more name recognition by 2028. Damn… 2028… over a decade lost to that orange buffoon

I don't care for leftists nor do I think bending to their flimsy whims is a good idea. Both Obama and Biden won after disasterous Republican presidencies and did progressive things after they won.

The fact that the left views both as villains now kinda says a lot.

And I'm not "coping" by calling Biden's presidency a good one 'cause it objectively is/was. Expanding healthcare access alone, building off the ACA, and giving Medicare the ability to negotiate drug prices is huge and if Trump isn't able to tear it up, that'll directly benefit me and my loved ones personally.

Sure, agree to disagree, but centrists need to stay out of leadership bc their caping to republicans has failed America too many times. 

Bending to republicans does nothing, and splitting the difference does nothing. America has said they dont want that a million times but DC and Manhattan dont listen. 

Obama and Biden aren’t villains, they’re flops. Politics is complicated but also not. Biden did a lot of good things but independents just felt closer to starving and homelessness than ever before… and you can’t yap that reality away.

I’m sorry if that came across harsh. I’m not coming for you specifically - I’m coming for Biden and all the Dems who kept saying the economy was great. 

It sucks to say all the good things Biden did was not enough bc the left fought him and got some wins.

But Dems losing the popular vote is actually such a wake up call and super depressing. In depth convos need to be had.

I like AOC.  More than Hillary or Kamala.

 

The thing she could really play up is her bartender job….  like it or not the Democrats have real disconnect with the working class in America.  And well she had a real job at one time.  

 

The fact AOC seemed willing to listen to what motivated someone to vote for her and Trump impressed me.

It's not the centrist approach that loses for Democrats. It's the fact that they talk at instead of to their base. Y'all keep saying it has to be someone truly left wing, but that would have been Waltz in a way and he could not get her the blue wall. Policy is not an issue, PR is. Democrats lost sight of what is important, and it's so obvious. Where is the Democratic party in local government? I see so many positions go unopposed for Republicans, when Democrats need a grassroots campaign. This isn't rocket science to a pop culture forum. Democrats are Dua Lipa at the moment. Everyone knows her and casually listens once in a blue moon. There's a few stans. But a widespread national campaign strategy isn't gonna do much good because nobody relates to Dua Lipa. Dua Lipa lacks a core dedicated fanbase, and her past success is indicative of right place right time rather than we're here to support HER.

Kamala played up working at McDonald's once upon a time. If Democrats want someone good, find the face of a charity or other issue being tackled relentlessly at the grassroots level. Platform someone for something they're passionate about. Find the rare Democrat in Texas, that people can relate to everyday. But also look up to that can rally people. A woman CAN be president. But for the foreseeable future it won't be someone in politics that's had national news headlines before. Stacey Abrams is an excellent example. Almost word for word what I just described, without her specifically in mind beforehand.

Universal healthcare. It's pretty obvious the groundwork has been getting laid since ACA. Biden strengthened it throughout his term and Kamala wanted to expand it. It would have probably taken a generation but it would have happened without Republicans shutting it down successfully and people just crying "socialism".

It's not a left shift if that was the plan since it was introduced though.

Republicans are not saying immigrants are bad. they are saying illegal immigrants are bad. for the record, i voted kamala. im just tired of Dems not even knowing anything about the other side. they generalize everything.
