It makes no sense. I thought this week was to break the record, it's just to tie it. There will be a push to get it back to #1 next week post-Kendrick to break it, you see if it doesn't. I'm so sick of these no-names breaking records only to disappear a few years later. There is a danger in being too successful. It means the public are more likely to ditch you with the next album cycle. It's sad but it's just the way of things. Gaga has proven all these years that she has longevity, that's ultimately all that matters. At least that's what I'm trying to tell myself at this very frustrating moment in time. Fanbases are just that, niche groups of people. It's not 220 million consistent people on Spotify or whatever their figures are now. The fanbases are almost always going to pale in comparison to the drive of the GP unless you have a particularly rabid and large fanbase like BTS' Army. Gaga and Bruno aren't at that stage of their career anymore. BTS probably won't be either when they come back. People keep raging on fanbases for letting these songs fail, but it's simply not 2010 anymore. You don't also have to GP push to guarantee anyone's success. Right now the GP is enamored with a bad country song sampled from a bad rap song because it's easy to drink to. I think this is a massive lesson in not allowing success to dictate your enjoyment. I know you guys love to fantasy football this, and act like artistic validity can come through commercial success, but you're just wrong. A song can be AMAZING and fail on the billboard charts, and you need to come to terms with that and stop relying on other people to tell you what it's okay to like.
