Elderflower 258 Posted April 12 Share Posted April 12 I'm very happy with the setlist. I love ARTPOP, but it wouldn't have fit the storyline or the theme of the performance. Same goes for Chromatica and Joanne. This was very cohesive while still having a lot of variety. Beautiful set pieces and incredible fashion. Top-tier vocals and choreography. Pop opera perfection. I do not want to compare Madonna to Lady Gaga now, I only want to bring up an observation. This setlist reminded me of what Madonna would've done 17-18 years into her career. Like, it's a new era, time to move and progress. If you don't serve new quality material, you become a legacy act. Gaga was very smart to do a handful of her biggest hits but not let old songs define or set the tone for the whole show. Yeah the mid section (aside from KILLAH and, surprisingly, HBDUWM) was somewhat questionable.
