that's.... that's not the same thing or same practice at all. this isn't an artist themselves releasing a sped-up version of their song

it's the exact same thing, it's been a trend for over a decade, the music industry has only just realised how popular they are thanks to tiktok

I don't think you're getting it. That video you shared is not the ARTIST THEMSELVES (Lady Gaga in that example) putting out a sped up version of THEIR OWN SONG (Bad Romance), which has been prominent recently specifically because of tiktok.

Cool, some people made sped up remixes of songs before. Great. I'm sure they did. That has nothing to do with the modern practice of artists listing official sped up versions of their songs on official channels like Spotify.

It's definitely telling the threat of not achieving a number 1 with this song has on the community compared to the mindset people have when it comes to Disease. Chartimg only seems to matter if she has a chance at a number one?

i understand that

what you're not getting is that this isn't a new trend, it's just the music industry catching up

so if it was a pre-existing trend pre-tiktok, but not for 1. the artists or 2. the music industry, who was the trend for? random remixers who released covers of songs?
