Oriane 19,772
I know a lot of her albums have been for her fans, whether she said it directly or it was hinted in the lyrics, but this feels even more the case with this album. All the promo she's done was made for the people who follows everything she does and is ready to analyze every detail. Revealing the single and the lyrics by copy-pasting the lyrics in the URL? Few people would have found that, but all it takes is a fan to find it and tell the others, and it spreads like wildfire into the community. Things like that don't need to be known by people outside of the fanbase, it's just a nice thing that we all share. It's the same for the Disease performances, it won't reach many people outside of the fanbase, and who cares, because she's doing this for people who matter for her. Reality 71,858
I feel like that's the case, especially regarding the sound of the album. Even from the little snippets we have, the album sounds like it will be dedicated to her hardcore fans more so than casuals or anyone else. Like, Notorious Being and Abracabadra don't sound "GP-friendly" whatsoever, but instead sound more like BTW deep cuts—which many fans have long wanted. I just hope fans enjoy the songs regardless of their commercial success. In my opinion, Disease is her best lead single Bad Romance. It sounds so exciting and fresh coming from Gaga, but I feel like some people have moved on because it's not charting well or there's a "lack of promo." Roughhouse Dandy 8,383
Truly. I fully expected her to go the Beyoncé route this far in her career so this is a blessing. I hope the fans will come around to appreciating what we're getting before things change. I think the BIG promo is to come... we were all confused about "lack of promo" right after disease but she has since put out 2 alternative versions, giving us time to really digest and fall in love with all parts of each version. Even the small snippets of her rehearsing/behind the scenes have been fun little bursts to get us excited all over again. I doubt she will do this for everything with the album, but with the holidays coming soon I think she won't roll out any huge promo until January and then feed us good with another single and more consistent promo for the album. But in my (maybe unpopular) opinion- even frustration felt by lack of promo is going to vanish the second more content/info is given to us, and it always seems to be that way so I think the best thing to do is enjoy everything we have now and know that February isn't that far away! I also think she genuinely had a lot of fun making this album and found a way to connect with herself in a way she has not in a while... and so a lack of promo is probably to avoid mainstream opinions that would start affecting her own opinion of what is probably going to be her best work ever. It clearly means a lot more to her to hear what the fans think, and she has catered everything to reach that base. And lets not forget she is Lady Gaga... extreme promo or not, she is going to hit the charts and sell out shows because she has become an icon. "My fans are on a roller coaster ride and you can't see where it's going" as she has said... so lets all just enjoy the ride!
RAMROD 104,104
That doesn't make sense actually. Born This Way was an album dedicated for monsters too, and see how much promo she got for it? From the actual fun fan project around the first single, (participate in making Gaga's picture made out of collage of pictures, by uploading your picture), to the many posters that plastered everywhere. It was visible. Like you can't escape her. It was awesome and peak fandom experience as OG monsters.
