Bonkers

You see the thing is, the audience score is almost always higher than the Critics score because people go to movies they expect to enjoy.   The score is "verified" audience members so it's an accurate representation of the movie.

to those of you who know what I'm getting at, :huntyga:

REALITY

My excitement has grown exponentially for this movie tbh. I was only going to watch it because my brother wanted to but now I'm actually excited because I'm hearing nothing but praise for the film :bradley:

With the amount of marketing this film is getting it’s no surprise it’s good. Studios wouldn’t promote it this heavily if they knew it wasn’t good. It’s a sign that it will do well.
i am excited to see it. I don’t know the musical too well but I love wizard of oz and I do like musicals in general and Ariana.

not all reviews are positive
• 40 The Telegraph
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo don’t come close to defying gravity in this bloated, beige screen adaptation of the Wizard of Oz prequel. review

• 40 Slashfilm
Worst of all, the film is loooong. It's not just low-energy. It drags. One could listen to Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" three and a half times in the same 161 minutes. And perhaps one should. It would be a more edifying musical experience. review

The Independent
The Wicked movie is fun and well acted – but why does it look so terrible?
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande showcase phenomenal vocal ability in this adaptation of the blockbuster musical, but they’re let down by a film that is aggressively overlit and shot like a TV advert. review

Seeing it tomorrow and much excited! I’m just praying that the audience is respectful and doesn’t treat this as a 3 hr sing-a-long. Please don’t ruin everyone else’s experience by singing over the movie. :patrizia:
