Why do I deserve to be flagged for opposing the idea of a holiday to celebrate men? Why telling me I should get educated when you don’t even know me? Honestly go touch some grass.

Because you are clearly ignorant and have no idea what you are talking about. You are clearly doing it out of spite and your goal doesn't seem to have anything to do with trying to have a discussion.

So there are no POC or LGBTQ men? You are contradicting yourself.

My dear, what I mean is: they should be celebrated for being POC / LGBTQ. Not for being men.

Why and how am I being ignorant when you are the one offending me?

Your response seems dismissive of men's issues and lacks the intention for a productive discussion. Should we also reconsider celebrating women, since, as someone else said before, behind every man is a woman supporting his decisions? There are women just as evil as men have been throughout history. Approach this topic with fairness and understanding, rather than fostering division and being hateful.

Yes my dear, a queer latino on a Lady Gaga forum is the one responsible for promoting division in this world and being “hateful”. Honestly…

You can't even respond to my message properly. You honestly think that just because you are latino and Lady Gaga fan, you can't be responsible for creating division or trying to minimize someone's issues?.:brat:

Men are victims of patriarchy too and there is a mental health gap that needs to be addressed. “The suicide rate among males in 2022 was approximately four times higher than the rate among females. Males make up 50% of the population but nearly 80% of suicides.”

Good male role models should be celebrated. Teaching boys that they are intrinsically violent because of their sex and cutting them off from their emotional development clearly has not worked out for anybody.

Agreed but like I said in my earlier post, this day ultimately becomes an opportunity for men to subsume themselves as the primary victims of the patriarchal system that they created and still benefit from.  Yes, positive male role models and archetypes should be encouraged but making it a celebration is a bit out of touch in my opinion, like basically saying "congrats, you're not a douche"

But to be honest, both men and women takes advantage of days dedicated to them to validate their wrongs though.

I’m sorry my dear, but you are so unaware of what real division means.

Its a talking point and a conversation starter for topics that don't get much attention the rest of the year. Nobody is asking for it to be a federal holiday

it's a double-edged in this sense because it also opens conversations for misogynistic men to play the victim, and gaslight society like We need a day to recognize the impacts of men in society when it is literally well documented in the history books that THEY wrote.

maybe women in first-world countries have that luxury lol

The fact is that men set the rules and have the power to change them, their main obstacle is other men.

I’m very sorry for what you have been thru, but the idea of a day celebrating men sounds pathetic for me.

Why? There are good and bad women, there are good and bad men, why should we only celebrate good women and not good men?

It's been pretty documented now among younger generations women are kicking guys asses.  I think young guys today could use to try and pick themselves up more.  But at the same time I don't think it's helping dismissing their concerns by saying society is misogynistic.

It's an awful feeling to feel like you're not being heard.
