Democratic senators call for probe into Musk's alleged contact with Putin

Two top Senate Democrats have called for an investigation into Elon Musk's reported contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin and his top aides.

The lawmakers have urged the Pentagon and Justice Department to determine whether Musk's alleged relations with a US adversary while holding major government contracts puts national security at risk.

Musk, who has been appointed to a senior government role by Republican President-elect Donald Trump, oversees billions of dollars in Pentagon and intelligence-community contracts as CEO of aerospace company SpaceX. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, a senior Foreign Relations Committee member, and Senate Armed Services Committee chair Jack Reed told U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and the Pentagon's inspector general that Musk's involvement in those SpaceX programs should be probed for potential debarment and exclusion after reports as recent as October of his conversations with Russian officials. Debarment refers to exclusion from certain contracts and privileges.

The Wall Street Journal reported last month that the world's richest person has had "multiple, high level conversations" with Putin since 2022, which the Kremlin has denied. Musk wrote on his X platform on Friday that he's "going to find out who's making these accusations and nuke them".

I dislike Musk but he is currently providing use of Starlink to Ukraine, this probe sounds like more political nonsense that will result in nothing.

Putin told him to shutoff starlink in certain areas and he obliged . He also bought twitter with Russian money.. Dudes a walking conflict of interest.

I think he's just the epitome of a egotistical contrarian. I expect by 2028 he'll be talking sh*t about Trump and MAGA openly and propping up whoever the Democratic nominee is  

The man has no spine, morality, or opinions of his own. He just hates what's popular.
