Lady Gaga in talk to join Star Wars universe

On the heels of the recent news that Lady Gaga is set to make a cameo appearance in the second season of Netflix's Wednesday, we're hearing that the pop megastar turned actress might be planning a trip to the galaxy far, far away.

According to scooper My Time To Shine Hello, Gaga has met with Lucasfilm about a mysterious role in an upcoming Star Wars project.

That's about all we have to go on for the time being, but Gaga has emerged as one of Hollywood's most in-demand actors since her Academy Award-nominated performance in A Star is Born, so it wouldn't be at all surprising if she's been lining up some major franchise roles.

We recently learned that Disney and Lucasfilm are hoping to get the theatrical side of the Star Wars franchise back on track after the disappointing box office performance of The Rise of Skywalker. Though the final part of the sequel trilogy was far from a flop, it did not perform as well as the studio hoped and was also met with a lot of criticism from fans.

There are a number of big and small screen projects in development that Gaga could potentially be a part of, including the new trilogy that was recently announced with Simon Kinberg on board as writer and producer.

The initial report claimed that this new trilogy would continue the Skywalker Saga with Episodes 10, 11 and 12, but conflicting reports have since emerged, and others with knowledge of the projects believe that Kinberg will "instead begin a new saga and sits alongside Star Wars percolating projects with James Mangold, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Taika Waititi, and Donald Glover."

Hmm let’s hope she stays away from this huge geek-fandom movies. Joker really damaged her reputation as an actress (I saw the Hypebeast comment section regarding her involvement in Wednesday and … it was cruel). 
 

I wish she’ll star in sth more experimental like The Substance. She’d be great for movies like that

This is an absolute nightmare scenario if true. You thought comics fans were toxic, just wait till you deal with Star Wars fans. Besides, Disney Star Wars has been a series of critically derided disasters that their core audience despises for years at this point.

If Gaga is smart, she will stay as far away from Star Wars as possible

Honestly Todd Phillips Joker was already hated in the DC community first. 

I wouldn't be that mad if she joins a big safe franchise. I think her next project should not be that serious or awards focusing. (Not saying Star Wars should be the one though) 

I just hope Joker is the very very last music stuff from Gaga in her acting career. She need to distance herself from those kind of projects.

I don’t think this is true and I sure hope it’s not. In my opinion Star Wars has lost its magic and they’ve been milking it for quite a while now. Not to mention the neck-beards already hate her after Joker so I wouldn’t want to anger them even more.

If after Joker she accepts this, then it means they don't really know what they're doing  I'm sorry to say this, but that's true.

You need a clear, positive and bright project to put her back on track as an actress with the GP and you pick the worst scenario possible? The shitty fans of this franchise (THE ONLY ONES who will watch this movie) are going to rip her apart. It even worse if like the article say it could be the beginning of a "new saga", they'll rip her apart and won't even go to watch the movie. Like, hello?!

Star Wars is just a money making comedy at this point. A victim of it's own success that failed to respect it's own legacy. People should learn from trilogies like Back to the Future that achieved perfection and left it at that rather than milking nostalgia till the end of time
