bpmMonkey 3,951 Posted yesterday at 07:13 AM Share Posted yesterday at 07:13 AM By far the best show of the year. Cristin Milioti f‘n ate every 👏 single 👏 time 👏. It follows „The Batman“, which makes sense to watch beforehand but not a must. discuss.

You might even call her the og Mother..? I felt the same in the beginning and havent seen her on screen since HIMYM, but she is everything and more. The Batman sets the scene for the show, but I also only watched it after seeing the first two episodes of Penguin. Also the movie is much better than i thought it would be, so if youre generally speaking into Gotham then its a cute one to watch. The movie has a big climax where the show picks up right after. So you spoil the movie ending a little with the opening scene of the show. First episode took me a bit to get into the show, everything after is stellar. Highly recommend, the season finale just aired last night

If you know Oswald Cobblepot, the Penguin from his previous incarnations on paper, or TV or other movies... You know the guy... His sleazy charm... The elegant twisted minded assassin... Incredible performance of the lead actors. An essential viewing. A really fine and gritty production. Milioti is perfect in a role that could have fit like a glove for Gaga too. The Penguin is a bloody good series. Any Batman universe lover should watch it. Late to the party but I got a diamond heart 1
Fantina 3,266 Posted yesterday at 08:47 AM Share Posted yesterday at 08:47 AM Watching the final episode right now! Probably one of, if not the best, show that came out in 2024. Hope they get all the awards Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams. 2
bpmMonkey 3,951 Posted yesterday at 09:14 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 09:14 AM If any of yall enjoy podcasts, there’s a really nice and fun one dissecting a lot of hbo shows, including this one. Might be a little weird to hop on it as the finale is screening, but I’ve made my way through most of their seasons. the episodes are all on apple podcast and probably Spotify as well, but also as video episodes. I listened to all their Harry Potter movie coverage, they look like your typical nerdy bros, but are refreshingly self aware and gave each and every episode a disclaimer condemning just kidding rowling for being a raging transphobe. Enjoyyy
Fantina 3,266 Posted yesterday at 10:05 AM Share Posted yesterday at 10:05 AM WOW...what a final episode! I almost feel like certain people will hate it as they sort of grew fond of Oswald, but what they don't understand is that he was always a villain and a monster. He is not a redeemable character or the savior of Gotham. He is a deeply troubled individual who couldn't accept that what he was doing was actually bad. In his head, he made excuses for the things he did because he couldn't come to term that he was this deeply psychopathic character. Spoilers below: Spoiler When they showed Sofia in Arkham again, I thought it was a flashback to when she found out her father had been killed, but seeing Selina being namedropped makes me think we will see her in the next Batman movie. I would love to see all these characters come and reunite in a movie, but I am kind of skeptical if they can really pull it off as well as they did in these series. I don't know if a 140-160 minute film could capture all these powerhouses together (Selina, Bruce, Oswald, Sofia) and make them all stand out individually. Until then, this is Elvira saying unpleasant dreams.
