badboymonsterx 520
You know something, I really love gaga and I was hoping the song would grow on me, but it just hasn't. I don't think this is a promo thing necessarily. I don't think the song is that good tbh. The video was also mediocre to me - she didn't bring it the way I thought she was going to. I think what brings me comfort is how successful DWAS has been.
lastpopicon 3,688
i honestly think that the joker flopping and the election results somehow changed the plans for this rollout. because it just doesn't make sense to me that we had all this promo for DWAS and harlequin, but for LG7, her main project, we just get an IG post and a MV and radio silence ever since. Nobody is asking, is she ok? Coz that's my worry at the moment. The melody that you choose can rescue you
Arcanum 4,870
Isn't it kind of obvious by this point, regarding what the Interscope person said, that they thought FAD's success was supposed to carry the song? FAD tanked and well.. Anyways Gagz' timing is a case study when it comes to her releases. I mean, just imagine Chromatica being released right after the Oscars in 2019. Or not right at covid. Or ARTPOP being released early 2013, had she not broken her hip. Or original LG5 before David Bowie's passing. Our girl is unlucky. I think that twink that reads the tarot cards jinxed ha. Bling 31,039
Its definitely promo. The more you hear a song, the more you want to hear it. Imagine how differently it would have charted if it had the Haus Labs 2023 promo https://discord.gg/hausofdelulu

When we all first became fans of Lady Gaga, were we all thinking "oh wow, this artist just had a smash hit that went #1 on Billboard and is on her way to be very successful, and so by following this winning woman in the music industry we can brag about stats to other stans online?" Is that really enjoyable? Is that the type of thinking that made people fans of hers? Or was it a song, a performance, a role in a movie or a show, or Lady Gaga's larger than life personality that made an impression on us and got us so interested in her as an artist and musician that we come back looking for more? Does Lady Gaga need to be successful for us to enjoy her work? Or can we enjoy her work subjectively for what it is, the message it may bring however we may interpret it, or for what we now know about her as a driven artist and woman? Do we need her to be successful to affirm our own ongoing fascination? Exactly! Thank you for your words! You brought such a good point to the discussion. It’s so much fun to consume art for its own purposes. Consume it for the sake of experiencing your soul grow, while learning more about yourself as the emotions caused by that piece of art emerges. I often think about how my life would be if a certain song or a certain book didn’t exist. Art has the power to make the world more interesting and life more bearable. Some will say “it’s not that deep, it’s only pop music”. Well, it is deep for me. Music means a big deal to me and I look for meanings and intentions everywhere. And of course it’s great when our fave artist achieves a #1 song or receives a Grammy nomination. I’m not going to be hypocritical about it. But I don’t let my opinions be tamed by these events. I’m too old to go with the flow lol and I definitely don’t need numbers to validade my emotions and taste. No wonder my fave albums are Joanne and Harlequin 2 1

Nobody is asking, is she ok? Coz that's my worry at the moment. My take on this is that both eras were mini eras. There was little time to promote DWAS because they had Harlequin coming and the same happened with Harlequin because the lead was coming. So things became condensed. It feels like it was a lot cause it was for a short period. LG7 era is bigger, we just got the lead for an album that’s due to be released in February. They have more time to promote and can dilute the events in a bigger schedule.
HausOfAntonio 7,995
Hits these days need to go viral on tiktok, that can’t really be fabricated. MVs and performances don’t do much for songs anymore. I hope she’s completely unconcerned with charts this era and just gives us the music SHE wants to put out. She’s already smashing with DWAS and it‘s HER merit as much as Bruno’s. She’s a living legend who has nothing more to prove!
LukiiGleek 173
I hope she does not try to please the GP. The song is long and meaty, not radio-friendly and she just does her thing. I reckon she doesn't even feel like havong lots of promo for it
