They knew Disease wasn’t gonna be as commercially successful so they probably just let it release without proper promo cause, why bother? It’s a good thing that Disease is an amazing song and has an amazing video for it. It’s one of her best singles literally EVER. She literally drops the best music in a very long time and people aren't tuning in, this is kinda tragic because she might never do music like that and the fans LOSE. I'm starting to feel this is due overexposure, think about it: Jazz residency in june/july, DWAS in august that turned out to be the biggest song in the world, then we get harlequin AND Joker 2, let's not forget the Olympics and probably more than I'm forgetting. Yes, it’s a phenomenal song, but no it’s not meant for radio, and no, it’s not easy on the ears for a casual listener. There is also no “lore” or story in the lyrics that would create buzz or speculation (like a Taylor song or Miley’s Flowers). Her promo has been on point, so idk why most of you are blaming marketing. She’s been teasing new music since January, in the CBT film, in Vogue, the Paris snippets etc. Fans couldn’t have been more hyped up. Then the mysterious October XX post sounded the alarm. At first everyone thought she was genius for releasing the LG7 lead right after JFAD but clearly that didn’t help. She also tied the song to Halloween, it’s released with an INCREDIBLE video days later, and she’s very active on social media promoting the song. She’s been very visible in the month of October.
