Anitta: 'You spend million dollars for music videos and nobody's watching it'

She's right, but it's sad that people who are supposed to be ARTISTS see music videos as nothing more than a way to make money, not as a way to give life to the song...

Also this is another aspect of the music industry that Tiktok has ruined. Youtube is dying because of Tiktok.

Maybe next time don’t put a mouth singing from a pregnant belly and people might watch it, who knows

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I don’t think TikTok is to blame, it’s just that people used to listen to music on YouTube and that inflated the views, now with music streaming services that doesn’t happen anymore. Also, there is no point in fanbases doing the most to make a MV have millions and millions of views on day one if what matters most is the Spotify and Apple Music numbers

Tiktok isn't 100% the reason behind views dropping of course but people used to spend way more time on Youtube aswell. If Youtube has way less users then the videos will get way less views.

Okay but then explain why vertical music videos did not catch on? I don’t believe people do everything on tik tok these days, at least not 20+ people, we watch short videos on TikTok or Reels, long videos on YouTube and listen to music on Spotify or AM. I’m not going to put on a video from TikTok playing Disease if I want to listen to it, I’m going to open AM

clearly she's graduated in admnistration, cause if she had any knowledge about media and social context, she would know how to do ****. also, people will watch your video if it resonates with them, not because you spent millions of dollars in it.

that's why she is, in my good português brasileiro, a JUMENTA DO CARALHO

YouTube doesn't have way less users though. As of March it has 2.49 Billion monthly active users, when it was at 1 Billion in 2013. Music videos aren't the cultural phenomenon they once were for multiple reasons. There's a lot going on in the world, there's more on demand entertainment (outside of Tik Tok too), there's more "free" entertainment, etc. 200 million people a day watch gaming content on YouTube. The entertainment is still on YouTube, it's just not being spent on music related content.

Anitta is very business-oriented when making decisions about her career, and considering that nowadays there's many paths for a song to be commercially successfull and that she releases a LOT of music all the time, she's not wrong, it really doesn't make sense for her to be spending so much in music videos.
