This is what is ruining pop. If that was the case back in the 2000s/2010s for artists like Kylie/Madonna/Britney/Janet etc what would have been the point in an era. 
Pop music has become more niche recently, I really wish that artists and labels would have a realisation that there is profit out of promotion and singles, each Gaga single used to be a mini era, that is what people bought into, so the fact that now for what feels like 8 years? we have had nothing interesting happen, or something to create waves when it comes to a single release, now should be the time.

The issue is that for an established act, even a flop will still let you sell out a decent sized tour and make ridiculous profit (see Katy Perry's upcoming tour in Australia). 

And touring arenas or bigger is infinitely more profitable now than a big album era. 

It was already moving this way in the 2010s but now it really is true that you release an album to tour. Hell tours are often announced pre-album now. 

So it really only benefits smaller acts looking to grow like Sabrina to have big singles because it increases the size of the possible tour.

This silence is maybe due to DWAS success that Interscope wants to preserve or bc of "Joker 2" flop. 

May her Joker 2 haters who dissed her, all suffers same as LMs and the Joker 2 cast did. 

May the so called "gay agenda" come true and make them suffer. We want a gay batman, a gay robin, a gay eric cartman, a gay Patrick Bateman, a gay every single of their idols. That would instantly destroy all those men-childs who bullied Gaga.

This makes the most sense. You don’t release all that stuff so close together unless you’re banking on synergy to power it all…and JFAD ended up being a dead battery.

The JFAD critical and financial flop is the only one to blame. The election has anything to do with this, I've noticed she isn't as devastated for that as the first time the cheeto won. Because anyone realistic enough knew that he would be the winner. Like everyone in the world already knew Trump would be the winner (even if we didn't wanted that)

So I'm sad because this should've been the best start of an era but Todd ruined everything... Im happy he is still hiding and hope he never gets to direct another movie again. Gaga didn't deserve this flop

That film had an incredible amount of buzz this year but the film itself killed it. It literally plummeted in opening weekend revenue after people started to actually see it.

Are we seriously so myopic as a fandom that we're forgetting how much anticipation there was this summer? For Joker and after the Paris preview? Not to mention all the promo Harlequin got.

There's been a TON of buzz about what she's about to do this year. Where is that same enthusiasm for her own musical project?

Because if she'd have stayed in the view of the GP while every headline was about how bad the sequel was to a massively popular film. The album would have been tied to its failure. 

The only people who would have seen it as something else to focus on were the fans.

Sometimes the best thing to do when getting bad press is to just bunker down and let it past. Because now no one besides hyper obsessive fans of Gaga or Joker are talking about JFAD. The GP have moved on entirely.

Which means come January, Gaga and team can reboot the era.
