I hope those millions of Trump voters get exactly what they signed up for :iamfair: Yes, I will also be paying higher prices, but at least I get to enjoy their regret :giggle: THIS is why you don't just vote on a whim.

I think there's only one way to make people wake up and realize Trump and far right movements in general will make their lives worse, and that's collapsing the system. This is a nice start

The way I see it is, yes Democrats have a problem with the working class, but realistically it's the only party with people actually willing to work for the working class.

Republicans are outright telling you they want to work only for the rich and these people are still voting for them.

Well, let's give them what they voted for. They will have to learn one way or another.

You know what's wild is the other morning I was thinking to myself...some if not most Democrats or people that vote Democrat typically do it not because they are gaining something from the candidate running on that ticket. Rather they're voting in honor and in favor of helping others around them that may not be as fortunate. I have friends, well they're about to be long distance acquaintances at minimum at this rate, that voted for Trump because he promised lower prices all around yet here we are and not even a full week later some of them regretting that decision. And it was because they started hearing the rumblings that retailers were going to make customers foot the bill for these tariffs, and they have a child with autism that collects some sort of disability income. If that goes that hurts their pockets.

It's like the warning signs for dangerous cliff is up ahead and instead of slowing down or stopping, you keep at that speed and fly off to impending doom. I just don't understand why they allow themselves to be suckered into a used car salesman's pitch for it to then turn out to be a mistake. And by that time it's already too late.

Yes, that's exactly what I've noticed. Republicans tend to vote for more selfish reasons (whether they're correct about those reasons or not).

I can speak for myself, a Trump presidency will not largely affect me. But I was still here fighting because I knew it might impact others a lot more. But now I am very demoralized and will just enjoy if things burn. Especially now that he actually won the popular vote, well, you get what you voted for.

Hell, if Trump actually manages the economy well I might even BENEFIT from his presidency (financially), but I still wouldn't support him or anyone associated with him.

I feel like the world will stumble slowly but surely into a new global financial crises with this. I don't get how this is to anyone a good idea on handling an economy? What's the point of it? The only countries benefitting from this are the ones ruled by authoritarians who already have a poor population and have to have wars just to keep their economy afloat and have a reason for their people to believe in something...  They are the only ones who benefit from this when their enemies become just as poor as they already are. Or not? What's the benefit behind these tariffs?

I feel like my comment on this won't be welcomed but I'm still going to share. I heard that ad from Kamala's campaign during the election. I'm so shocked this is her campaign ad.

Right now, China exports cheap products to the world because they have cheap labor. People living under poverty line working hard for their government. You know that is not what democracy looks like. No other countries can compete with the price of their products. The minimum wages in more developed countries are simply too high. The costs to make the products are higher so the prices on the market are more expensive. And because of that, US is giving China money to buy those products. Domestic products cannot compete. This eventually causes Chinese economy to thrive and American economy to wither which happened in the last decade or two.

Raising the tariff nullify the competitiveness of the Chinese products as it will reflect on the price of these products. Yes, those foreign made products will become more expensive which is why they do this so that American people will buy more domestic products which will then keep the money in the US, creating more job opportunities and keeping the companies and production lines in the US. We want to keep the companies here so job opportunities will be here. There was a trend of US companies leaving the US (not sure how it is now). This policy is trying to stop that. There may be an increase in day to day products but this will create more jobs and increase wages. With the increase in the salary, you will be able to afford those products instead of giving those money to China which actually supports their authoritarian regime.

Trump also said that he intends to support the US gas industry which may actually help decrease prices of day to day products. I do understand people hate Trump and Democrats are better with social issues but on this policy, I think Trump's policy is beneficial for Americans. Please don't come for me.

That’s an interesting take.

There’s literally a video of people saying China will pay for it. Even when they’re told they will pay for the price increases, they still don’t believe it. They’ll still find a way to blame anyone but Trump even with him office.

The sad and funny thing is is Trump said he was going to do this multiple times. Like it's not a secret. And people rooted for it. It's astounding how uneducated people in this country are. Tariffs were first taught to most us in like 4th grade and that's something that stays in history classes until high school.

Hey if the economy does fine then that's great. Or it burns to the ground and Americans will learn the hard way that he wasn't the answer to economic problems

You claim to be superior to Trump voters because you fight for others, yet at the same time you said you will enjoy seeing the whole country burn under Trump.

You only want to see others do good if they agree with you, and come to the same conclusions as you, so how are you superior to Trump voters?

Because when the economy was good (despite inheriting it from Obama) it was Trump saving it and he got credit. When it goes to **** during his term, they are now magically gonna blame the Dems.
