badmonsterkid 56
If this was any other major artist in a similar situation this article wouldn’t have been made. She’s been held to an unbelievably high standard for the last 15 years. She could easily record an album similar to ASIB soundtrack and pop out a couple huge solo singles. I’m sure she knows that and interscope knows that. Instead she’s gonna give us, the fans, an album a lot of us have been wanting from her for 10+ years. Soak it all in, enjoy the music and ignore the numbers cause after this I suspect we’ll be getting mostly piano ballads as she gets older. 2
Murakami27 823
I never care about hits. When I look at the Billboard 100, I don't recognize much of it. Lana doesn't really chart or have "hits" but she continues to be popular. Beyonce doesn't seem to care that much these days either. When you reach a certain level in your career, it becomes more about your body of work, exercising creative freedom, and pushing your own boundaries as an artist. Chasing hits and number 1 becomes less relevant and important. 10
M i K E Y 7,282
Am I the only one not bothered a bit? My gosh this clickbait by sites every time she releases and it’s not #1 immediately is tiring af. A Very Gaga Holida 20,419
The truth is that she can. What she cannot have (it seems) is a smash in the charts, which basically mean nothing interesting.
M i K E Y 7,282
We should prepare ourself for hatred critics when LG7 drops. We can get anything from praise to “she tries to hold onto her past success” to “her new sound isn’t it, she should stick to ballads and jazz” Personally idgaf about critics but sadly many people do NO DUCT TAPE - NO MISSON

Anderson123 35,547
What a shady article made by some stan lol. I think it's safe to say that after ARTPOP, Gaga decided to take a different route with her work and it's not her priority to be making songs for a #1 spot. Some have come, some have not been that successful but she has always served quality in every single project she has done. Disease is a monster song and I'm here for LG7 being an album she's 100% proud of.
JazzGa 14,456
Since when was continuing to get "solo" hits 20 years into your career an expectation for musicians? Pretty obvious example of moving the goalposts for women so they can never feel successful Edited November 7 by JazzGa I've taken a few dips in the lady pond

You'll probably see stan lashings though. 14 minutes ago, badmonsterkid said: She could easily record an album similar to ASIB soundtrack and pop out a couple huge solo singles. I'm going to say something entirely controversial here: I think Gaga releasing this type of music 16 years into her career has less to do with fan service and more to do with herself. I don't dispute that she loves her piano ballads to death, but I also don't think she wants to be pigeonholed into the HAC pop tag that so many keep trying to label her post-Joanne/ASIB. Remember, Gaga said in that Howard Stern interview from the ARTPOP era that Dope came out of her rejecting Interscope's attempts at meddling with her creative vision as they were requesting that she release radio-friendly ballads as a single because they was popular at the time (hence the dramatic change from I Wanna Be With You to the album track we have today). She mentioned in the Joanne documentary that she wanted to be a rock star even into her 70s and 80s and I wouldn't be shocked if part of the reason Chromatica had zero piano ballads was not just because of Bloodpop and team, but also because the label probably wanted to push more ballads post-ASIB and she said no. 1
Edonis 28,590
Anyways, you can tell the article was written by a gay that spends way too much time wasting away on the internet because "solo hits" are not a thing people in music talk about. Like, at all.
southpaw773 2,340
Who cares. For example, nobody is going to know about or care about Shabkoozy or whatever that bar song is in a couple years. Moon dust gets everywhere 2
metalguru 917
Another crap filtered through post-Swift Twitter talk. But can we please start sharing the correct narrative please? Like how many of her songs are +500K everyday? 6 +1M songs at times? At least one streaming hit from each era? A catalog that is getting more and more recognition from Gen Z? Someone needs to write a follow up answer to Vulture. A music critic. About how ridiculous and wrong their perspective is.
