Who did you stan before Gaga?

The first time I heard Gaga was in 2008. I was at the school bus and Just Dance started to play on the radio. I remember loving the song so much, so when I got home, I entered the radio website so I could find what song was that. Since then, I’ve been stanning our queen. 

But before that, I was really obsessed with Britney Spears. I still love her, not as much as I love Gaga, but I definitely consider myself a fan. I remember downloading Blackout when it first came out and getting starstrucked. I continue to think that Gimme More is one of the greatest pop songs of all time 

I also adored Lily Allen, Gwen Stefani and Fergie before Gaga. The year that Fergalicious and Glamorous dropped was magical. 

what about u guys? Were u a Stan of someone else before Gaga?

I remember being a fan of Shakira when I was a child. I loved her so much I got interested in learning Spanish. I used to learn Spanish religiously. Then I loved to listen to Katy Perry  Teenage Dream and Prism were my favourites. Then I came across Paparazzi music video. There begins the story of a Little Monster

Before Gaga I exclusively listened to alternative rock radio and a lot of Fueled By Ramen. I remember discovering Paramore before they dropped Riot and being obsessed with them. Also a band called Meese who ended up only dropping a single album. Also was a huge fan of Muse. And typical Fall Out Boy, The Academy Is, Cobra Starship, Cute is What We Aim For. Thinking back what grabbed me wasn't her music. I wasn't super into Just Dance. It was her image in her online videos for Gagavision that fascinated me.

Yes... I stanned the Black Eyed Peas HARDDD pre-Gaga and early Gaga years... had every CD, was on their online forums, eventually went to their concerts etc. Starting back in the Monkey Business days lol. The BEP are so under appreciated now for their music but they were amazing in their prime.

Part of the reason I started stanning Gaga was because I was recording the Black Eyed Peas' MMVA performance in 2009 on TV to post to YouTube   (yeah I was cool) and I ended up recording Gaga's performance as well by accident pretty much, and I started to really appreciate her talent for performing on top of already LOVING The Fame.

To this day, that is one of my fav performances she's ever done. Such an amazing era back then for pop music. 

And then before even them I stanned Shania Twain. When I was legit ages 5-7 years old hahahaha
