Of course there would be many of you here complaining about it. I can’t believe some of you still don’t realize that Billboard lists are all about numbers, all numbers are literally there to explain the position on each one of those artists lol. With that being said, there’s no other way other than just accept that it’s gonna be either Drake or Taylor at the top of it.

You may not like her but you have to admit she's a star. Plus, she writes her own stuff. It's already been 10 years since 1989, it was an iconic album and she's been making hits like crazy since then.

Pop in “Pop star” is from popular/popularity so yes, popularity should be considered.

OMG, thank you for pointing this out. My eye was starting to twitch!

Empirically, it could be that Gaga will never "rank" first in any one category that any publication dreams up. Gaga usually makes history in every category, even if it's not at every moment. Some pop stars focus on being good at one or a few things and can measure their success thusly.

But when you consider all-around talent, cultural impact, philanthropy, social-cultural activism, artistic vision, serving a lewk, etc. all at once, let's be honest: it's Lady Gaga who stands out. 

So don't let this or any one metric get you down. Gaga is every icon. Our lady is a legend. 

That's why we're all here--to witness and support this undeniable international treasure of a woman through a lifelong, rollercoaster career with "a LOT more to come!"

exactly that, the only impact she's had is high sales and that's because her music is basic and safe af and easily marketable

gaga could easily do shake it off but miss swift could never pull off a bad romance 

that's the key difference to being popular vs a real star

idk their sales figures off by heart but maybe the ridiculous amount of albums tay has put out vs adele has caused her to overtake her numbers wise? that's my guess

Don’t over-analyse it, that was just a silly reference to an old Gaga tweet  when the media said she was fat she tweeted “Adele is bigger than me, how come nobody says anything about it?”

Definitely not, but she has been around for longer and has impacted culture more than Gaga. I’m literally Gaga’s biggest stand and will defend her like a mother to my grave, and don’t like Beyonce’s music in the least, but I’m not delusional enough to believe Gaga has has more cultural relevance than Beyonce (unfortunately).
